You should be able to place your welder even more precisely with the wider view from the cockpit that is not obscured by the welder, and you can see from the side exactly where the tip of the welder is pointing, and how far away it is from its target. That is why I placed the tools and cockpit the way I did, it was not an accident.

thanks for listening. :) You are doing a fine job. I am just telling you what I find during "test driving" them. I like to position my welder precisely when I do projection based printing, to avoid printing blocks that would interfere with my ships space or would block access to deeper blocks. Knowing where the tip is kind of important. And in default view it is not visible. I had used the other welder ships you made before, the deprecated constructor was efficient, although a bit low on storage.

Second, the cockpit is deliberately higher than the welder and grinder, so that you are able to see past them from inside the cockpit, which should help to avoid potentially crashing into whatever is being built or ground down in tight spaces where the 3rd person camera is not working properly.

The MK2 tetra will have cameras for each tool (similar to the builder and scavenger), as it should be bigger than this one, but I will not be changing the cockpit position to a less useful one.

If you are unable to remember or figure out where your grinder and welder are without having to turn and look each time, you could move the cockpit yourself, which would give you a chance to redo the toolbars to your liking, or you could try the older, decommissioned constructor, which has the cockpit placement you are after:

First, the bottom camera sits one block to the side of center because there is a landing gear is on the center behind the connector, so it cannot go there, and the conveyor junction that is in front of the connector does not allow a camera to be placed on it.

I had considered adding a second landing gear, to place one on either side, and having the camera on the center, but reworking this design is low on the to do list, right after releasing the rest of utility ships.

You are of course welcome to customize yours in game, though, moving a camera and two landing gear shouldn't be too challenging.

Hi, I built one, two things need improvement: the bottom camera sits unusual to the bottom connector, which makes it a but more difficult to dock. Second, the cockpit is too high compared to grinder and welder (or they are too low). Every time I have to switch view, the view reset moves them out of sight, and if i have to flight while welding, I do not get the ship easy into a parallel course to the blocks.
