GV-201 Duna Racer

Description
No reactors. Limited cargo space. The need to be entirely self-sufficient. The Duna Races remain one of the solar system's greatest driving challenges, and the GV-201 has a solid performance of somehow surviving everything that can be thrown at it.

This is the model right out of my stream on March 6th, but with two extra gyros included to provide assistance with mid-air maneuvering.

Designed along a similar mindset to the w4stedspace KSE stream series, this rover has no reactors and is reliant entirely on small grid batteries and solar panels, along with just enough storage for some spare parts, ice, tankage for gasses... and a few "extras". Its low center of gravity allows for running the wheels at unlimited speed (at least in single player) though your mileage may vary with a few wheels popping off... but that won't stop your day, because there are four lifter piston/rotor assemblies (outriggers) to help lift the grid off the ground for the inevitable wheel replacement. (Extend H, Rotor, Extend V, lock gears). The design also features underslung 3x3 wheels with no friction, steering, or propulsion, intended to provide a bit of extra protection against outcroppings and rough landings. (Or in a worst case scenario, re-enable them and claw your way to victory!)

Like cliff diving? Stick some wings on this and go soaring. Just don't forget to pack chutes.

Want to test your luck hauling cargo? There's an advanced rotor on the rear to get you started.

The two person cockpit is set up so the left position is the driver (parking brake and add wheel controls) while the right position is the navigator/wheel man (controls for the lifting system.)

Note that driving with the horizontal pistons extended is not recommended - you WILL destroy them in tight enough held turns.
