Description

A total overhaul of Shadé's Sanka Mk. B.
⨴ The rocket on the underside is a takeoff booster, for short takeoffs. Start rolling before using it, or you'll break the propeller.

The Sanka-B started production shortly after Valfross finished reclaiming the Silent Plain, and saw a great deal of use throughout the rest of the Polar War. With the breathing room and access to more resources obtained with the Adiantum, the Sanka-B was a far more refined product, and packed greater range, speed, and vastly more firepower. These capabilities served it well in the midland ranges; at the very least, with airfields few and far between, the increased speed and range made bearable what would otherwise have been a brutal and long campaign.

It was intended to replace the Adiantum in active service; this didn't happen for quite a bit longer than expected, due to Someaka production running into a number of potholes. For a time, this meant the Sanka-B was used for tank and bunker busting, while Adiantums handled air superiority.
In The Sky Crawlers, the Sanka Mk. B is the primary fighter of Rostock Iron Works (and the viewpoint characters). They have one or two scenes where they properly thrash what they're put up against, but the most famous scenes involving a Sanka usually involve them being turned into swiss cheese.

I've been working on this thing for years; most of what I learned making planes either was learned by modifying this one, or was added on as I learned.
It's my magnum opus.
The latest round of changes includes moving the cannons to the centerline and more dialed-in handling.

It's not schematic-accurate - e.g. the canards are straight on the original, whereas here they are swept back (since it's being used here to supersede the Adiantum, which has swept canards). The camber of the wings and the design of the intakes are also different for aesthetic reasons.
And, of course, the original doesn't have a rocket strapped to the bottom.

           My toolbox. Contains useful stuff.

It seems that reminding people to press the like button actually works. 👍

This one used yours as a base; I'd say that's reason enough to give you credit.

wow, you actually finished it!
seem like ive been credited too much; since based on the description, this plane only have one single block i placed.
