Beskrivelse
Welcome to Manic's English Units - Similar to the German Units mod, this aims to add more realistic-looking mid-game units for the Anglo-Norman English culture. As a side, this mod also serves as the unofficial Manic's Frisian Units since the early-game models will only be visible to the Frisian culture (the only culture that uses englishgfx for their units in the early game) and are catered specifically towards them as unique units.

For a bit more variety and flavour, just to make them a little more distinct from the similar French units, the light infantry model is meant to replicate the continued reliance on the native Anglo-Saxon fyrd or levies to fill out their ranks. The heavier troops are meant to look more 'continental' to replicate the new French-speaking Norman ruling class

The unaltered DLC units used in the English Units Pack (included in Monks & Mystics) will now only appear in the late-game, around 1200 or so.

UPDATE: This mod now includes early unit models. They are heavily Germanic in appearance since they are designs to primarily serve as the unique early-game units for the Frisian culture. At present, Frisian is the only culture that uses englishgfx in the early game and thus these models will only ever appear for Frisian (since English cannot appear before 1100), especially in those 769 playthroughs where the Normans hardly ever appear, let alone conquer England.

This custom unit pack should be fully compatible with any and all mods for Crusader Kings II, so long as they don't also edit units tied to the 'englishgfx' culture (specifically the 'engup_englishgfx.gfx' file).

Want even more modded units? Or perhaps you're just the nosy type like me? Then I humbly suggest that you check out my other unit mods, located in the Manic's Units workshop collection.

For those experiencing issues with the Workshop, or otherwise wish to bypass it for whatever reason, you can download a file containing all of the Manic's Units mods and add-ons here[www.dropbox.com]. Simply place both the folder(s) and the .mod file(s) in your CK2 mod folder (Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod by default).

All of these mods are both Ironman & savegame compatible.

Hi there, sorry to be a bother, but I think late-game heavy infantry should use the Italian model and mid-game heavy infantry should use the default English ones (English only appears around 1100 or so anyways, great helms wouldn't be completely rare by then), as even early in the hundred years war, the English and French were fighting in plate armour

UPDATE: I've added some early unit designs to serve as the unique early game units for the Frisians. At present, they are the only culture that uses the englishgfx graphical culture for their units in the early game and, since English cannot appear before 1100, they are the only culture that will ever be able to use these early game units. Hope they're to everyone's liking!

Unfortunately I cannot seem to replicate this issue on my end. The problem you are experiencing was present in some of the other, older mods (namely the Norman and Anglo-Saxon ones) but they have since been fixed in a patch and it shouldn't be present in this mod which was released with the patch already implemented. Are you using any other mods, not made by me, that alter unit models? It can result in a conflict, even if they don't necessarily modify English units specifically.

Also, I noticed that you've posted this here and in the Manic's Units mod comments. Which one of these mods are you using? This may help narrow down the issue.

So there's a bug where the helmets of the late English troops, both the cavalry and heavy infantry varients, get merged with their mid game counterparts as both models obviously try and share the same space.
