Archon NXT

Description
Say goodbye to under-developed star systems with the Archon NXT! Purpose-built to build up a new foothold in the uncharted void, the Archon has nearly everything an ambitious explorer could ask for - and room for more!

Featuring a full suite of mining and refining capabilities, plentiful cargo capacity, the speed and agility of a patrol cruiser (with the teeth to back it up), and even an onboard trade terminal, the Archon is comfortable in any role no matter what the mission may be.

Welcome to the New World.

NOTES:
The life support modules are tucked below the main stairs in the Bridge. Don't forget to fill them!
The Data Center (where the main ACTR bank is located) can be extended up to 5 tiles forward (x3 wide) to mount additional ACTRs.
The room labeled Gas Extraction is a placeholder for when the owner has acquired enough materials to build Ram Scoops - it will accommodate up to four floor-mounted scoops.

It's a beautiful mining ship!

I'd upgrade weapon systems, allowing for automated defences while mining and combat when at the helm. But that's not a big deal. It fits the job and will PvE like a pro. 350 m/s flight speed makes it a speed beast when empty! Also, the shield is super strong!

Most importantly: 10 free ACTRs. 1 overflow dumping ACTR and 2 nanites/weapon system ACTRs. This is really good!

Need tools? Use 3-4 ACTRs to auto-fill 3x 3D-Printers. With automation ships, you can now mass-produce guns. The single Assembler allows for all ammo production. Setup 2-3 ACTRs and start pumping tons of Nanites and Ammo in storage which will later be teleported in the right place with the 2 armoury ACTRs. Don't even get me started on the 4 Refineries... 4-4-4-4-4-4 R-r-r-r-refffineries! You'll melt that bitch of an ore in seconds! Long live ACTRs! Good setup by the author!

Thank you for this contribution!

What a labour of love.

I'd be interested to see you try your hand at station building and larger ships. With the help of automation you can usually run a large vessel even with only 1-2 people. Drone bays, nuclear power, and other higher tier components almost dictate bigger hulls.

Just finished looking over it. Still need to spend some time flying it but my initial impressions are great. The exterior design is pleasant and unique, asymmetric, kind of your style. The interior has most everything you need. I love the fact that the ship offers some space for growth, as you pointed out. If I was going to immediately edit anything, it would be swapping autocannons for lasers, but that is an easy switch.

Appreciate it. Do let me know what you think, it was designed to be about the biggest ship I was comfortable operating solo and I'm curious how it holds up for other players.

I can't wait to check out this and your other two creations. Was surprised when I saw your name, loved your EGS work back when I played.

Dude looks awesome!

Thank you for the feedback :) I'm not much a fan of small refineries myself - early versions of the ship had two large ones - but in the end I decided the weight and space savings were worth it. Appreciate the comment though!

This ship looks amazing on the outside. Inside the space is well used. I utterly despise small refineries though. All in all it looks like a good starter vessel for people without the will or skill to design their own.
