It can indeed be abused, but why would you bring a pole either while there are many things that could be used.
The rope could be an idea though

The ability to rapidly imprison and recruit people (with the recruit prisoners with dialog mod) is amazing. I agree that there could be an item required, reusable hopefully. However, if i was planning to do what i do with my squad...i'd take rope and look out for big sticks. So not beyond the realms of possibility to just assume you did. Thanks!

It's added in default startbresearches so you don't need to research it !
Might be unbalanced though as you can quickly get people in prison.
I'll probably balance that someday needing to buy ropes or something like that (something low mebel to craft)

do you need to import a game or start a new game all together for it to show up in the research menu?
