Description
A double-barreled shotgun with "sideplates" from Call of Duty: World at War.

Replaces the hidden CS:S AWP on Tootti's animations.

Inspired by the "Super Shotgun" from Doom, Blood, Serious Sam, etc, and Rex the Impaler's Boomstick (which I earlier had made a similar script for), I decided to try and make my own version. Since I would lack the groovy reload animation Rex made (seeing as the animations I used are of a later version) I decided to bypass the reload animation altogether and replace the AWP using the M60 ammo with no reserve pool. It kinda works online, but it doesn't make much sense. It fires and reloads as fast as a default AWP does. Includes sounds; one of my few mods to include a firing sound as well. Oh, and this version has a thin handguard.

Constructive criticism is welcome. Think twice before posting complaints or suggestions.

The script changes are:
  • HUD icon
  • BuiltRightHanded = 1 (necessary to flip the viewmodel)
  • Fixed incendiary sound
  • PumpShotgun response rules (the characters never specify a pump shotgun, so it works)
  • 50 round capacity (def. 20)
    • Now the gun has 50x2 shells (like the Tier 2 shotguns that have 10+90 shells), feeding straight from the ammo pool like a classic videogame "super shotgun".
  • 20 pellets per shot with 25 damage each
    • Since both barrels are fired and reloaded, it shoots twice as much pellets as an average normal shotgun.
  • 0 reserve ammo (def. 180) - M60 ammo type
    • This is done in order to make the gun feel like it's feeding straight from the ammo reserve. You can still replenish ammo, and perform an actual "true" reload.
Note: frag rounds make the gun lose its potential for 50 long shots. Incendiary ammo, however...

Yeah that's for sure !
For this double-barrel though, I'd say that with a lil bit of anims tweaking, and a bit of balance (maybe... just cutting off the possibility to grab ammo at the caches ? Or reducing the ammo drastically, or lowering the precision) it could really turn a redundant weapon slot into a badass game changer.
For the anims, a stronger and faster weapon sway when moving (I mean, these shotguns are heavy and not ergonomic, they sway a lot), as well as a cool little inspect before picking up something else (could require a new model though) would do a lot to give it just a bit more OOMPH :D

We need as much as we can get to keep the game feel fresh. And this new CWL thing has the potential for greatness.

Agreed, for balance purposes I had to switch it because I felt like I was cheesing the game a bit (no offense), but I f* with the concept, it's a really good idea. I mean, we don't need 2 bolt sniper rifle right ?

It was made as an experiment, with satisfactory results, but very gimmicky/finicky. Honestly it's kind of a shame L4D does not have a double barrel shotgun by default.

This mod basically turns the AWP into a shotgunny Super Weapon, like the M60 or the grenade launcher. Except you can reload it at ammo stacks so... it is very OP.
Movement animations could be tweaked (the weapons moves slower then the walking pace of the character), other than that it is very well done, and really satisfactory. The balance problem is strong though, if you pick up this weapon, you are sure to finish any campaign easily.

This happened before TLS update, so adding a script was somewhat justified.

One can replace pretty much any gun with a script like this... unless it's a shotgun that reloads one by one and it will take forever to reload 50 rounds, even with a glitch.

Yes, I have mentioned in the description that frag rounds are a downgrade. Unlike the incendiaries.

cool shotgun,but when i used the explosive ammo vs special infected, but it doesn't kill them, only concusses and slowly kills them.
