[More Planet Info] 1.4 Quest Marker Fix

Beschreibung
Patches the mod More Planet Info (made by: Erisss) to properly render the Quest Markers added in 1.4 by replacing the old Lua file (cockpitview.lua) with a modified one that incorporates parts from both MPI and the 1.4 update by adding in some missing quest related functions and overriding 2 outdated functions.

I made this mod mostly for myself , but after giving it some thought I decided to post it here to help other people.

After multiple hours of testing , I haven't found anything else broken other than the Quest Markers. If I missed an error let me know and I'll see if I can fix that.

I won't be fixing errors caused by mod incompatibility (this includes the yellow warning signs which show up when the mod picks up something belonging from another mod (mostly because of the large amount of info that I need to be given / collect in order to do so)) unless if they somehow make the Nav Menu unusable / hard to use.

Also if the author of the original mod ever updates their mod you may have to unsub from this one since it overwrites a crucial file for editing the pilot seat UI.(very unlikely to happen since he/she no longer plays SB) Mod should be fine if Erisss ever decides to return to SB modding.

Install this mod with:
More Planet Info (made by: Erisss)
More Planet Info Lush Planet fix (made by: Kirby's Apathy )
for an optimal experience

If you are facing any issues with offscreen planets you can install:
More Planet Info - FU Patch (made by: Alb)
Starmap Zoom Slider (made by: Hiran)

If you are using Frackin, it's also advised to use this mod aswell:
Frackin Universe: More Planet Info Official Patch

FAQ:

Q: is MPI required
A: Yes, this mod only replaces the one outdated Lua file with a modified version that Includes the quest code added in 1.4

Q: when opening the navigation menu I can only see a sun with a planet orbiting and I cant click anything
A: as of 1.4 most fuel mods seem to break the UI , try uninstalling them and seeing if that fixes the issue

Q: what are the yellow warning signs
A: there nothing that important , MPI defaults to them when it sees something but doesn't know what it is (more specifically it doesn't have an image or a description to show)

Q: will this brick my save / I can't do X (which is unrelated to the navigation menu)
A: no it wont .This mod and MPI only affect the navigation menu , nothing else is affected

Q: is this FU compatible
A: yes , infact I tested the FU version more thoroughly

Q: is this fully 1.4 compatible
A: after quite a bit of testing I found that the only problem with MPI was that quest markers didn't show up , although I should mention that I haven't progressed much with bounty hunting so there's still a chance that I may have missed an endgame error somewhere

Q: will this stay up to date?
A: maby/probably , it depends on if I'll still be using MPI when said modbreaking update comes since I only update stuff based on how likely it is I'll use it and on how easy/hard said fix is

Ah. Well, good that you're here then. :cozybethesda:

It's not intentional, MPI is outdated, it's made for version 1.3 not 1.4.

Due to it fully overriding one of the nav menu's scripts to work, it accidentally removes all the code added in 1.4 to render the quest markers.

Don't know why MPI hides the quest markers, SO GLAD this exists!

All 3 mods work fine when installed locally on my end.

Best guess is that you are still subbed to either MPI itself or more likely a mod that should be loaded before my mod, like for example biome fix.

Locally installed mods can't set workshop mods as dependencies, SB pretends that they don't exist and even throws a missing mod error if said workshop mod is in a requires list.

This leaves the possibility that if you're not careful with which mods you install locally you can end up loading the mods in an order that's not intended by the mod authors.

Fixed, I merged More Planet Info -> https://steamproxy.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1117007107

And the 2 patches (this one) -> https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1772643711

And this -> https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1761193918

In the same .pak file, now everything works perfectly, it works just like subscribing to the mods from the workshop, but I was interested in putting the .pak itself in the mods folder of the game because I "translate" the mods and I needed to put it there xD

The problem was that the mod and the patches didn't work as independent mods, why? I don't know, but merged together they work fine hehe

Wow, it's funny, the mod works fine "if I install More Planet Info" and this mod "from the workshop", but if I put the .pak files in the mod folder, the Quest Marker Fix stops working, I don't understand it xD

Does this work for anyone? maybe it requires starting a new game? the Peacekeeper missions are still unchecked.

I have put for the first time the mod More Planet Info and I think it's wonderful, but I need the Peacekeeper mission markers, if I can not solve it I will have to do without the mod, and it's a pity U_U

Oh, OK, I did not know that.

I haven't started the peacekeeper stuff yet. I'ts been a few years and I'm still getting my bearing in FU, Elithian Races and the surrounding ecosystem :)

I'll give it a proper check when I start out the peacekeeper stuff.

It only works with peacekeeper bounties, NPC given quests don't work because CF didn't bother to rewire them to use the added waypoint system.

I've tried to wire them up myself, but I haven't had much success yet.

If I manage to fix them, it's probably going to be in the form of a new mod, since its more of a vanilla oversigth rather than an MPI incompatibility.

As far as I can tell, the mod does nothing. There's not a single quest marker in my galaxy with ~35 open quests.
