USS Lexington CC-1 (1930s)

The Lexington is my first attempt at a replica of an (almost) real ship. As widely known, the Lexingtons were originally planned to be battlecruisers, but the Washington Naval Treaty made it so that two of these ships, Lexington and Saratoga were converted into aircraft carriers. This is what I imagine they would look like if they remained as battlecruisers instead and received a refit in the middle of the 1930s. This particular interpretation takes inspiration from the refitted Pennsylvania-class and is primarily painted with Standard Navy Gray #5, the paint used during the interwar period. I might release a Measure 1 paint scheme if there are enough interest in it.

Started after the Audacious was published, the first iteration had some mistakes halfway through that resulted in the complete scrapping of that one. This one is the second attempt I made, which IMO is a lot more accurate than the first one. I also tried to add in as much detail as possible, of the same level as the Audacious. Of particular pain are the railings, which once again were custom-made. All in all, this ship took me one and a half months to complete.
