AG LT-01 Elephant

The Elephant was the first light tank to be born of the LRD. It weighs around 92k kilograms. It learned from the failures of the Ferrum and is equipped with cutting edge MART technology. With a recommended maximum range of 500m and a minimum of point-blank, it can destroy enemies in a variety of situations. It has 6 rocket launchers and 2 gatling guns, but is poorly armored, with 2.5 blocks of front armor, 1 on the sides, and 1.5 on the back. The top and the bottom are similarly armored, with 1.5 on the top and 1 on the bottom. This keeps it agile, but means it is vulnerable to attack by any armament, including well-placed small arms fire. It has a maximum speed of 21 m/s on flat ground, and can be controlled by gyroscopes in the event of it going airborne. The small crew of 2 means that it can be cheaply produced and operated.

The Elephant was effective, and stayed in service until 2178, as the LT-02 Risus was considered a design failure almost on par with the Ferrum. It was phased out after the LT-03 Celeritas.

Diary of Otis Mader, Gunner of LT-01-319

These Elephants might just be the ugliest vehicle I've ever seen. I love them. We took an RPG to the front today. I'm writing this from the medical tent, but they say I'll be out of here in no time. I don't want to describe it as I'm still processing it, but I attached the combat report below.

COMBAT REPORT : 17 FEBRUARY, 2174

Private First Class Otis Mader, Serial Number 10971238, was gunner of LT-01-319, an Elephant tank. On a recon mission, the Elephant was struck by a Rocket Propelled Grenade consisting of two warheads. The tank caught fire. Private FC Mader disembarked the vehicle, but returned to the affected area of the tank to remove Staff Sergeant Argus Arteaga, Serial Number 18661056 from his driving position, after Staff Sergeant Arteaga was struck by shrapnel and knocked unconscious. Private FC Mader removed him from the vehicle and pulled him to the safety of another Elephant tank in the platoon. Staff Sergeant Arteaga will live as a direct result of Private FC Mader's heroic actions. On this basis, Staff Sergeant Arteaga submitted a request for a Bronze Star to be awarded to Private FC Mader. At time of writing, request is still pending.

The doctors said he's going to live because of me. I don't think I went above my call to duty, I just did the right thing. I'll take it, though.

- Private FC Otis Mader was awarded the Bronze Star on May 30th, 2174. He rose to corporal and was eventually honorably discharged at the age of 28 due to medical limitations.
