Vaas Weapon Base [BETA 3A]

Description

VERY basic, Simple, yet effective. It definitely doesn't have all the features you'd likely want in it(YET) however for StarwarsRP servers who have been having numerous issues with other popular weapon bases having dumb issues this could be a bit of relief to those headaches.

_________INSTILLATION AND USAGE__________

HOW TO USE:
(STEPS 1-3 ARE IMPORTANT AS THIS IS HOW YOU SHOULD BE DELIVERING CONTENT TO YOUR SERVER. AVOID OVER USING WORKSHOP COLLECTIONS, IT JUST SLOWS DOWN SERVER REBOOTS WHEN IT HAS TO CHECK 100 DIFFERENT ADDONS FOR UPDATES THAT RARELY HAPPEN.)

STEP 1: Extract this addon using gmad, and upload the weapon base content to your servers addon folder.

STEP 2: Go to the weapons you used before and extract the content from them and upload it to your servers addon folder as well. DO NOT COPY OVER THE LUA FILES TO THE SERVER! This addon is meant for NEW weapons, the old weapons will just be rendered broken.

STEP 3: Place the addons workshop ID inside the the vaas_weapon_base/shared.lua file in the section labeled for content download.

STEP 4: Open up the base file and look at the configuration section for what you need.
STEP 5: Copy ONLY the config section into each new swep you create.
STEP 6: Restart server, join server, test weapons and tune the configurations for them to your liking.
STEP 7: Have fun!



NOTE: It is highly advised to not use other weapon bases along side this weapon base. This one for the most part is much cleaner and easier to work with(its literally just 2 lua files and only 1 of them is being messed with)

Required addons section used for easily finding the weapon model packs to be used. you don't need them all just the ones that have the weapons you want to create for your server.

Slight touch ups were made to it syntax wise however I do intend to further improve the effect into something completely new. reason for mention is that I included this edited effect to prevent compatibility issues from happening and to simplify things.

ah I think I understand now, yea no I'm not going to be using hitscan at all then. not only does it seem rather dumb to have an instant impact gun but bullets are meant to be able to be dodged if a player is fast on the feet. from what it sounds like, hitscans would make that no longer an option for players.

In short nothing to worry about

Don't make blaster bolts hitscan - the reason why people hate TFA a lot is because they don't know how to make good projectile models and they complain about most weapons being imbalanced because they can stretch across the map with their hitscan tracers.

The weapon base is still in early stages due to some irl issues that were going on for a good while. As for the projectiles being hitscan based, as far as I'm aware not at the current moment.

I might make them hitscan based later if thats needed. But right now I'm more focusing on the basic necesities atm. Stuff such as types of attacks, attachments and modifiable nehavior with the base.
