Robes of the Archmagus

Description
Places a set of Robes of the Archmagus in both the first room you fight in in Helgen Keep, and in the upper floor of the Riverwood Trader. The robes give 100% less cost to all spell schools. This will both allow for unlimited spell casting, and for the player to potentially neglect their magicka entirely as they won't have to worry about a spell costing too much magicka anymore. The purpose of this mod was to give players a way to bypass the magicka system almost entirely. It is quite powerful, and the enchantment can be learned by disenchanting the robes in order to place it on any armor or robes that would accept fortified destruction enchantments. Do be warned that disenchanting the robes can lead to multiple levels gained through a massive boost to your enchantment skill.

Late-game, this mod is a bit less of a cheat, as you can already get up to 2 schools of magic with the full 100% cost reduction, but early game this is a major change. Either way, I hope this will be a fun mod for both mages and those who dabble in magic.

Note: Just to keep people informed, I understand there is a bug with enchantments in mods. If you disable a mod containing an enchanted item that is equiped on your character, you may end up with the bonuses still on your character, and unable to be removed. As with all mods, it is always good practice to back up your files before hand.

All of my mods were made for my own personal use first, but this time around I decided to publish the ones that at least worked well enough for my purposes. For example, making a greatsword with the speed of a dagger made the sword feel too flimsy and light, as well as too powerful in combat, so I ended up discarding that mod instead. I've made mods like this for Oblivion and Morrowind, but have never published them. Still, I'm no professional, but hopefully some of you can make use of these very simple mods. =)

Chances are, that's a problem either with other mods, or with changes to either Skyrim or the respective editor. Either way, these mods are no longer supported. I'm leaving them up since they do work for most people (myself included), but I don't have time to continue to update them to counter issues with the software being brought on by new patches. =\

Assuming it works, there's another mod that won't even require robes to get the same effect. I think I just named it something like Free Spellcasting. It might be easier to work with, but it also might not work for you, depending on whatever is causing trouble.

@SwiftFire1002 The robes are just a way to remove the cost of spell casting. Admittedly it would make the robes from the College of Winterhold obsolete. Really it comes down to whether you want to not have to use mana to cast spells, or to go with the original game design. As an alternative, you could disenchant these robes and put the enchantment on another item. There's also another mod I made that is a ring that gives super fast magicka regen. It's not quite as powerful, and it would be a ring instead of robes. If you would prefer, you could use that and still wear the robes of the archmage from the College of Winterhold quest line.

@tully125 The Destruction magic school will have its power based on your soul gem. If you are just starting out, you should still get full cost reduction (100% or greater) with a grand soul, which you can usually purchase from most of the Jarl's wizards, including the one in Whiterun. Sometimes there aren't any available, and the price is usually a little over a thousand gold. By higher levels, I have been able to use even common souls while still getting full power. If you would prefer to soul trap for yourself, mammoths are a reliable source grand souls, but they and their herders (the giants) are usually pretty tough for lower level characters.

When I disenchanted and put it on my own armor for my battle mage it worked for all schools of magic except Destruction which was only 17% reduction of spell cost instead of 100
