I have talked to Kevin Ryan briefly about adding musical tracks to the game. It is costly, but I have suggested Kevin MacLeod royalty free music, since there are three tracks that were from him already in the game. I'd like to hear some jazz, swinging piano music, or Vegas music.

There was file-sharing back in the day, but Steam is very streamlined compared to the past. I have found over 700 worthwhile puzzles, all in a single collection, and still growing.

I think the music of the original game is better. I actually mute the music to this game and determine which song a puzzle "feels" like and play one of the songs from the old game.

That said, the physics and parts updates make Contraption Maker so good it's tough to go back to the old days. Also, the Steam Workshop means that there's ten to twenty times as good tough puzzles as there are in all the other games combined.

TIM:EMC was the first game I played at home while TIM3 was played at school. Great games, but Contraption Maker is modern and better.

GOG sells an Incredible Machine pack (https://www.gog.com/game/the_incredible_machine_mega_pack) . It contains the Even More Incredible Machine, which I think is a necessary add-on to the original that I consider it part of the package. I haven't played 2 or 3 but Return Of The Incredible Machine is also solid.

The TIM1 vibe was exactly what I was going for. You can play the original version on archive.org ( https://archive.org/details/the_incredible_machine_1992 ) and indeed, it was based off Puzzle 61.

I have shortened the wall, so the exploit should be fixed (although I was hesitant to fix it).

I love this puzzle. It is strongly reminiscent of an Incredible Machine puzzle, one of the most challenging and best ones in the game. In both you have to trap a mouse in a cage and to do so you have to cut the rope and explode a platform. Both are about sequencing though yours has a slightly different trick added to it. I was astonished that my answer is the same as yours.

Oh, and to resolve WGS's backdoor, simply decrease the length of the left side of the wall. You want that cage to be mis-aligned if it falls before it should.
