Multiplayer skirmish is more viable, though again it would be a lot of effort and never completely stable. If we do ever support multiplayer, it'll be in skirmish only.
We'll have to agree to disagree on corruption, we think the current implementation is better for gameplay.
I want it less random. That you have at least a decent start every time. The gap between a good start and a bad start is just way too big in my opinion.
Corruption increases costs because breaking regulations leads to more failures and less efficiency. Corruption sort of by definition means profiting the individual at the expense of the system. If it was possible to cut corners without any adverse effects it wouldn't have been regulated in the first place. A "black market" means it's stolen stuff sold illegally which means there is less sold legally, piracy is just straight up theft.
I think the cost of removing corruption itself will provide that balance. You could also just use another planet to produce your stuff cause removing corruption costs about as much as a frigate and if it's on a planet that doesn't have a lot of production buildings on it that very well might not be worth it.
