EMD SD50 CSX Transportation

Description
The EMD SD50 was introduced in May 1981 as part of EMD's 50 Series and built until 1986. The locomotive was released as another attempt to provided a higher-horsepower model to keep pace with General Electric's increasing competition and its C36-7 model, that offered more power than the SD40-2. Unfortunately, EMD rushed the SD50 into production and it not only suffered mechanical problems but also did irreparable damage to the company's reputation as a respectable locomotive builder. Interestingly, after these issues were corrected the locomotive did prove to be quite reliable and today many remain in use on Class I systems.

Included are the following paint schemes:
- Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (Chessie System)
- Chesapeake and Ohio Railway (Chessie System)
- Seaboard System Railroad
- CSX Transportation

Features:
- 3 Lod's
- Aging
- Manned and unmanned / turned versions
- custom soundset

Technical specifications:
- Maximum speed: 65 mph
- Power: 2611 KW
- Tractive effort: 409.2 KN
- Availability: from 1984
