Enhanced Retex part 1 (of 2) (v.18)

Description
Enhanced Retex is a complete re-work of every texture in game. The purpose is to improve the fidelity and detail of the in-game textures without losing the developer's vision and art direction. This mod seeks to improve without over-sharpening and keeping a unified theme of artwork. This is not a drastic deviation from vanilla, but worth every bit of bandwidth to download.

The mod is split into two parts:
Part 1: World-builders (all level-building contruction items, props, surfaces, etc), models (player, NPC, monster, weapons, items, etc), assorted files and base models (shared textures, generic equipment items by level range, etc, extras from levelsets).
Part 2: Props and assorted textures that tie together all other textures.

Please install both parts to completely revamp your game.

If you like (or dislike the mod) please give it a rating, make it a favorite, add it to your collections, or offer your feedback on where it needs improvement. This is a work in progress, and as such, I can often get fixes or tweaks out in a reasonable time.

If you notice this mod updating frequently, it is due to another user identifying a bug, glitch, fix or other improvement. I don't patch for the sake of patching, but to improve the mod. More patches means I've been playing the game less, and I don't want to do that.

Enjoy!

Obligitory edit years later: I have not made, nor will I likely be able to make, Mac or Linux ports for the mod. I don't own a Mac, and have never received a single penny for this mod (and am fine with that), so I can't afford to buy a Mac just to make this mod for it. Ubuntu is free, but I don't have room on my hard drives to dual boot Linux and load up everything needed for dual booting. So, I won't have a Linux version either. GUTS hasn't worked for me for at least 6 months, and I've done everything I can think of to get it working, including uninstalling. It still doesn't work, so I don't know if there's an easy button to convert mods to Mac/Linux. Sorry.

If it's not showing up in your folder list, read the comments. There are instructions in there multiple times on what to do.

And, I can't make it a single mod because Steam only allows a certain max size (which is related to the mod not showing up in the list problem), and this mod is much larger than that max size when combined. They also delete the links to external downloads every time I try to point people to somewhere to download a merged version.

I thnk that sums up the 3 questions that get asked in rotation, so hopefully everyone can save themselves some time and get to gaming :D Enjoy!

before and after?

The Linux version crashes for me so far, sometimes it's just before sometimes after the login screen. Doesn't matter if all or only this mod enabled.

Does work with proton though so it isn't a huge loss.

too bad about not working in linux I dont like windows. before it crashes I captured this from the terminal

Can't assign material MEDIA/PARTICLES/MODELS/Z1TUNDRA/stone_lamp_01_chunk_mat to SubEntity of MEDIA/PARTICLES/MODELS/Z1TUNDRA/STONE_LAMP_CHUNK_02.MESH0xae13800 because this Material does not exist. Have you forgotten to define it in a .material script?

@HeyZeus no, it doesn't matter. they're different sets of texture packs. Pack 1 is all of the main game items, pack 2 is terrain, decorative items (like tables, chairs, pots, cups, small rocks, etc).

Does it matter which order these are put in the load order? Should I put part 2 above part 1?

Although it doesn't work on my Mac(crashes) , thank you for making this high quality MOD.
