"They thought they could cage me; now they will suffer..."

Now also available on Nexus Mods![www.nexusmods.com]

Version 1.1.0 (Read the Patch Notes here!)

The Spectre targets the souls of their enemies from afar by partially ignoring resistances. Spectre skills focus on inflicting damage-over-time effects, as well as tapping into the afterlife, sacrificing certain attributes to gain increases to others.

The Spectre skills are Intelligence-based by default. However, should you prefer to play as a Strength or Finesse Spectre, download THIS MOD AND ONE of the overrides below.

Spectre Class - Strength Override
Spectre Class - Finesse Override

As a damage-intensive but double-edged class, Spectres are best suited as primary physical and piercing damage dealers within a team composition. For skill points, you'll want to put enough points in Necromancy to obtain the skills in this class, but should be focusing on maxing Warfare as this increases all Physical damage - including these spells! For Talents, I'd highly recommend Torturer as a must-include as this increases the duration of Agony.

*NEW* Want a spooky garb to go with the Spectre? Check out DiverDrive's Garb of the Spectre mod!

Starter Tier (Level 1):
  • Inflict Agony: Blight the target, dealing Physical damage and applying Agony, dealing Piercing damage upon cast and at the start of each turn. A target may have up to five stacks of Agony, each dealing more damage than the last.
  • Purge: Shatter a portion of your target's soul, dealing Physical damage. Removes all stacks of Agony, dealing additional Piercing damage based on the number of stacks removed this way.
  • Essence Bolt: Cast a volatile jolt of energy, dealing Physical damage to the target. Applies a stack of Agony.
  • Unholy Ritual: Morph your life essence into raw power, gaining Mordant, which increases Intelligence and AP regeneration at the cost of Constitution.
  • Wither: Enfeeble the target, reducing Movement Speed by 25 and Accuracy by 20.

Novice Tier (Level 4 onwards):
  • Weaken Spirit: Spread fear into the soul of your target, applying Dread, reducing Piercing Resistance by 20%.
  • Riftwalk: Shift into a ghostly shade and re-emerge at target location, dealing Physical damage and applying a stack of Agony to enemies hit.
  • Corruption: Conjure a wicked blast, dealing Physical damage to enemies in target area. Has a chance to Terrify. Applies a stack of Agony.
  • Soul Pierce: Fire a powerful bolt of energy, which travels through and deals Piercing damage to all enemies in its wake. Applies a stack of Agony.
  • Ethereal Veil: Dip into the afterlife to become Ethereal, turning yourself invisible and gaining Ghostwalk, allowing you to ignore ground surfaces whilst in-motion. Ethereal is not broken by casting spells or taking damage.
  • Bonechill: Breathe a chilling blast, dealing Physical Damage to enemies in target area, applying a stack of Agony. Covers target area in Ice.

Adept Tier (Level 9 onwards):
  • Pact of the Parched: Sacrifice Wits to gain Lifedrain, healing you for 75% of non-DoT damage dealt to vitality. Only one pact may be active at any time.
  • Pact of the Immortal: Sacrifice Accuracy to gain Eternal, preventing you from dying. Only one pact may be active at any time.
  • Pact of the Seer: Sacrifice Damage to gain Prophet, increasing your range by 3m. Only one pact may be active at any time.
  • Conduit of the Cruel: Direct a wicked soul to the target which forks to nearby enemies, dealing Physical damage. Applies a stack of Agony.
  • Cruel Intent: Deals Physical Damage to target enemy and applies a stack of Agony. Then, if the target has three or more stacks of agony, they are afflicted with Perish, reducing their Damage and Physical Resistance.
  • Seed of Malice (1 Source Point): Terrify the target and embed a seed which will explode after 3 turns. Whilst seeded, target's Piercing Resistance is reduced. Upon explosion, the target will take a large amount of Piercing damage and will gain five stacks of Agony.

Master Tier (Level 13 onwards):
  • Merciful Resurrection: Take pity on the soul of a fallen ally, resurrecting them at target location with 50% HP.
  • Soul Ripper: Steal the soul from target corpse to gain Ascended, decreasing the cost of Source skills by 1. This may only be cast once per combat.
  • Dome of the Weak: Conjure a mystical dome from the beyond. Enemies caught inside are afflicted with Wither and Dread.
  • Annhiliating Purge (2 Source Points): Condemn enemies in target area to suffer, dealing Physical damage and also removing all stacks of Agony, dealing additional Piercing damage based on the number of stacks removed this way.

Divine Tier (Level 16 onwards):
  • Rite of the Lich: Shoot forth lifeforce, bouncing to nearby characters. Allies are forced to become Mordant for 2 turns, gaining Intelligence and AP each turn at the cost of Constitution. Enemies are afflicted with Perish for 2 turns, reducing Physical Resistance and Damage by 20%.
  • Malefic Discharge: Discharge volatile jolts of energy, striking all enemies around you, dealing Physical Damage. Applies a stack of Agony.
  • Call of the Damned (3 Source Points): Rifts to the afterlife appear sporadically on the ground, causing souls of the damned to return to reality. Souls of the pure are dragged back into the ground, inflicting devastating Piercing damage to enemies in their path, as well as applying a stack of Agony.

Malthus the Afflicted is an undead Spectre who can sell the party skillbooks. He can be found throughout the game in various locations:
  • Fort Joy:
    • Next to the Necromancer's tent in the Fort, near Griff's Camp.
    • At the entrance to Armadia's Sanctuary.
  • Reaper's Coast:
    • Aboard the Lady Vengeance. He is on the top deck on the opposite side to Tarquin.
    • Near the Eastern entrance to Driftwood, he is below a wooden platform, looking out toward the sea.
  • Nameless Isle: Aboard the Vengeance in the same place as Reaper's Coast.
  • Arx: In the city square, near the waypoint and next to a maple tree.

@Aos Hehehe what a babe <3 Geistmages sound damn cool! So happy to have inspired someone else to start modding too!

I've sent you a friend request, and I'm always happy to help out if you need it :) Getting into modding can be polarising at first, but is always nice to have a friendly face :steamhappy:

@Odinblade: I refuse to play Definite Edition until this mode is out. Loyal to the bone! :P

In the meantime, I decided to do something creative. You've inspired me to create my first mod: Geistmages (Aero + Necro).

Here's a sneak peek:

"Geistmages are wizards that harness the energy of geists in order to fuel their spells and crazy inventions. Lynching mobs are an occupational hazard. (People are such cry babies these days... What's a little collateral damage among friends?)"

@Kim Hey! I'm using this brief window before publishing is enabled to triple polish everything. If beta mod publishing isn't enabled tonight, I'll upload them elsewhere and comment the link here. Sorry for the wait!

@Odinblade i just saw some people posted their mod to reddit and nexus. I dont know whats your opinion or preference, but it could be a good option for releasing this loved masterpiece with out waiting for Larian. (If i understood correctly you already got the beta for the mod tools, right?)

Also, do warn me if i am bothering you. I know i am being very pressing.
