Halberd-class Destroyer (Vanilla, Small-Grid)

Description
The Halberd-class destroyer is a heavy escort classification in the UNSC Navy. It is best suited to direct ship combat and assaults.

History
The Halberd is a surprisingly capable ship. With thick armor, plenty of guns and missiles, and forward speed on par with frigates thanks to boosters, all packed into a sleek hull barely longer than a Stalwart-class light frigate. Destroyers are often the first ships to engage the enemy and can take on Covenant cruisers when in small groups. The Halberd's impressive armament and speed allowed UNSC Iroquois to perform the famous Keyes Loop maneuver, taking out three Covenant ships all far bigger than itself.

Armament
2 Rocket Launchers - 8 Missile Turrets - 4 Gatling Turrets

Equipment
Oxygen and Hydrogen Systems, Forward Boosters

Tactics
When fielded in packs, Halberd Destroyers can work with cruisers to focus fire on the larger Covenant cruisers and carriers, or protect them from Frigates and strike craft.

THRUSTER DAMAGE MUST BE TURNED OFF

This ship is 1:10 scale. It is 100% heavy armor construction and is not rated for atmosphere.

I do not think so. It's just a small grid ship, there's not much production a small grid can have.

Does this version have any production capabilities?

It CAN be done, a friend of mine decided to go with the slanted rotor-mounted plates and got a very nice result, but a) lord Klang WILL find you at some point and b) just complicates the build and disallows printing or easy repair, the plates can be easily knocked off.

Indeed, i attempted to use rotors for the prow, and well, as any experienced player of SE will know how well that went. Needless to say i intend to use some of these techniques to emulate a custom build i made on Halo Reach which combined features from the Infinity and Heart of Midlothian.

Midnight of the Midlothian, you mean? That ODST royally messed up the Covenant's day. I'm glad you like it, it's one of the ships I am most proud of, because overcoming the prow shape without use of subgrids or mods was harder than it looked.

Just wanted to say i love your design! This particular ship instantly became one of my favorites when i first saw it on waypoint / legends. Ive been working on remaking this design using large grid pieces with some additional design choices of my own and intend to make interiors as well. All credit goes to your design being my inspiration. Needless to say this has been a fantastic project to play with, from which, this has given me ideas for my own ship designs in the future.

I do know I built the Forerunner builds technically the wrong way around, but I do prefer the "ranch house" layout instead of the officer tower since that's a lot harder for me to do interiors and so on. They will get redone.

Maybe you can do this for the remastered versions when you get to it eventually. But please, take your time on your current ones.

Well it looks better when flying it that way

I feel an urge to say this, but your old forerunner frigate, dreadnought and flagship’s cockpits were facing the wrong way I believe :)
