The Kraken Table

Description

Release the Kraken!
The Kraken is a table designed to elegantly fix the struggles of space and organization. Its dimensions are similar to the Custom Table's, but it has six drawers that can be deployed out for personal boards, as well as two major extensions for the sides of the table.

Usage
  • Clicking on the metallic handles will bring out (or back in) the respective drawer.
  • Leaving items on a drawer and closing it will store the items along.
  • The ends of the tables have clickable sides denoted with an "EXTEND" label that can be clicked to attach or remove the side extensions.
  • A "Customize Board" button can also be found at the left side of the table, it can be clicked to enable selection of the main board to tint or upload a custom image.

Hovering the clickable areas will display a cursor.
Please read the change notes for updates and tweaks.

Customization
The Kraken's board can be tinted to a different color (via the right click menu) or use a custom image.

To add a custom image, you must:
  1. Click on the "Customize Board" button on the left side of the table to enable editing, the board should turn white.
  2. Right click the editable board, choose "Custom".
  3. On the new menu, add the desired image's URL on the "Diffuse / Image" field.
  4. Click on the "Import" button to apply, the image should load and the board will automatically lock itself back.

If you are only tinting the board without loading a custom image, then make sure to click the button once again (which should be now labeled "LOCK") after you're done customizing.

Issues
  • One does not flip the Kraken.

Fixed it for me, too. Thanks DK.

Oh! That checks out; it would mean that the mat is not becoming transparent, but rather the table's occlusion simulated by the SSAO is rendering over the rest. I'm afraid I've still been unable to reproduce it on my end.

Well, disabling SSAO on settings for the Unity beta update solved the transparency issue for me guys.

It seems that the transparency issue starts when you add a custom diffuse image. Before that, it's just a solid black table (which is fine imo).

I've been out of it for a while but wanted to thank everyone who have left such beautiful comments, who have made their own tweaks, and games. It brings me immense joy to hear this little table's still bringing happiness to others. ♥

@Habanero @polocatfan
Haven't been able to reproduce, no issues on either live or public test / vulkan. Consider clearing cache and giving it another try? (also make sure the color tint of the mat didn't have its alpha value lowered)

@MalicWanderer
I'm afraid this is simply a design flaw; some interactions were added or altered over time and don't work beneath the 'play plane', which wasn't originally accounted for.

@ColonelCornhol3
Select the items you want to bring over and use the "Persistent" toggle so they don't unload when you change to this table.

table is entirely black

Just fyi, the public beta Unity update messes the transparency of the table up (you can see the outline of the legs underneath now).

Example:

Downgrading from the public branch fixed the issue.

I'm not sure when this became a problem but i've noticed recently that you can't slide cards under the bottom of decks on this table anymore. Specifically, any of the lowered areas. It works fine on the raised portions of the table.

When I load a tabletop wargame map the table disappears

Nice, thanks. Been looking for a table to play a less complicated game of 40k than the competitive table provides.
