thanks for the reply.
i ended up reversing the select locked objects to select only locked objects and doing similar to what you've suggested, made a hex grid from objects

@Lord Animal Chin Grid cells are not objects so no, if you want buttons on them all you could make grid cell objects and hide them under the table or something. I'm not sure if that was the answer you were looking for.

anyway to get this to create the buttons on all grid cells within range instead of on every object for measuring empty spaces?

I've figured it out... works great! Thanks!

OK dokey, I am going to try this again, not sure why I am not understanding how to use this tool... lol

@dunami5 linked = same size for both x and y. There is a little chain next to grid size for linked.

not sure what "linked" hex grid means, but they are all the same size (scale 2.25). I just tested the height theory again and seems to be working (tried at 5 different heights) - not sure how folks are showing on stream with various height. All good in my book!!! cant tell you how many hours this has saved in my games!

@dunami5 You must use linked grid in tabletop. You cannot have different (non-linked) size grids when using this tool. The math isn't as straight forward when the shapes aren't true hexagons/squares. You also don't have to worry about height, as it isn't even figured in.

Hey Flolania, Noticed using hexes at different heights throws off the calculation. Totally understand why, sadly Battletech rules don't really account for height. I think rounding is easy enough, i just know seeing a decimal is causing folks not to use / trust it. Thanks!
