Title: "Eco: A Game of Frustration and Excessive Bans"

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

I recently delved into the world of Eco, hoping for an immersive gaming experience where I could shape the environment and collaborate with other players. Unfortunately, my time in this virtual ecosystem was marred by an abundance of issues, particularly concerning the staff's heavy-handed approach to moderation and the restrictive gameplay rules.

First and foremost, the moderation team seems to have a penchant for banning players excessively. It's disheartening to witness a community-driven game transform into a dictatorship where players are constantly walking on eggshells. The banhammer is swung with little warning, and the reasons provided often lack transparency. It creates an environment where players are afraid to express themselves or take risks, ultimately stifling creativity and the organic development of the in-game society.

Moreover, the stringent rules imposed by the staff are a major drawback. Eco is advertised as a sandbox game where players can shape the world, but in reality, it feels like the game is dictating how we should play. Forced constraints on playstyles and arbitrary restrictions hinder the true potential of the game. It's frustrating to see the potential for emergent gameplay stifled by rigid guidelines that limit the very essence of a sandbox experience. (edited)

The sense of freedom promised by Eco is an illusion, overshadowed by the constant fear of breaking some obscure rule. Rather than fostering a community of diverse playstyles and approaches, the staff's decisions create a homogenous and restrictive environment, diminishing the enjoyment of the game.
In conclusion, Eco has the potential to be a captivating and unique gaming experience, but the heavy-handed moderation and restrictive rules significantly detract from its appeal. If the developers don't reconsider their approach and prioritize player freedom over excessive control, Eco is destined to alienate its player base and fall short of its potential.
