This game is the one reason why i haven't killed myself yet
Disco Elysium is a beautiful game. Everything from voice acting to writing is impeccable and I refuse to have the one review be such an overwhelmingly bad take. The world overwhelms us with character and history, a history which is so thoroughly documented that one could easily get a degree based purely on the story of revachol. The voice in your heads paint a beautiful picture of the theatre of your mind and your actions influence and change who talks to you more or less. Volition(a community favourite voice in your head) is the one reason I'm not six feet under. The sheer amount of content in this game is frightening, I have played for well over 200 hours and I still haven't seen everything. Now bear in mind this hasn't been a 200 hours of fluff and fetch quests but real speech and conversations so well written that I wouldn't be surprised if they were all real. The plot is so deeply affecting and has been one of the few times a game has ever made me cry. This game is beautiful and knowing the current state of Za/um we will never get another game like this. This is not an overrated game, not enough people are playing it. I have learnt more from it politically and personally than my entire life prior. There will never be a better rpg than this, no fluff, no worthless conversations, no problems. Disco Elysium saved me at the tiger king dream sequence is the single most effecting thing that has ever put on steam.
