Counter-Strike 2: The Game That Makes You Question Your Life Choices, But You’ll Be Back Anyway

Look, Counter-Strike is not for everyone. In fact, if you’ve ever played it, you’ve probably had that moment where you stop and wonder: What am I doing with my life? Why am I putting myself through this cycle of frustration, rage, and occasional victory? But then, CS2 happens. Maybe you get a clutch round. Maybe you finally top the leaderboard. But, let’s be honest most of the time, the game ends with you screaming at the screen, wondering why you keep putting your mental health on the line for the sake of virtual victory.

But here's the kicker no matter how many times you ask yourself if it’s all worth it, we all end up coming right back a few months later, dipping our toes into the salt ridden toxicity that is CSGO I mean, CS2 (same thing, right?). It's like a bad relationship that you know will let you down, but you keep returning anyway, thinking, “This time will be different.”

As a South African, I can tell you that the things said in the lobbies especially in voice chat would probably get us all thrown in jail or at the very least placed on some kind of government watchlist. Seriously, if anyone overheard some of the conversations happening in those lobbies, there would be an immediate investigation. It’s basically the verbal equivalent of opening a can of red-hot chili flakes and tossing them into the air, just to see how much chaos it can cause. Yet, in a strange way, it’s the one place we all gather to release our pent up toxicity, because who needs therapy when you’ve got a ragtag group of 12-year olds calling you every name under the sun while you’re trying to defuse a bomb?

In conclusion, CS2 is like a chaotic, toxic rollercoaster that will make you want to uninstall it every 10 minutes, but you’ll always find yourself back on that ride a few months later, laughing, crying, and wondering how the heck you survived the last match. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to anyone I like? Well, that's a different story.
