The hyper-realistic graphics of Need for Speed Unbound are complemented by cartoonish smoke effects in the corners taken by skidding and wings during every major jump that takes your breath away.

Of course, this is a totally individual matter and I understand that a significant part of the players will immediately go to the menu and look for where to turn off those goofy effects (don't worry, it's possible). I didn't do it. Instead, as part of tuning my first vehicle, the legendary 1998' Nissan Silvia K, I started exploring the possibilities of various shapes and colors of smoke and wings, because I not only didn't mind their presence in the races, but I actually enjoyed them.
They fit the overall tone of the game, where beautiful, realistically modeled vehicles collide with fully animated characters. The culture in Need for Speed Unbound is wild, the visual tuning of the cars goes to absurd lengths and the cartoonish animations only confirm this.

The game starts to be bad only when we realize the terrible "woke" story. At the beginning, a lesbian steals my car and the whole game is about getting the car back, so I have to get to the top of the street racing scene and endlessly defeat a bunch of lesbians and transvestites.

I just tried to skip the story quickly without throwing up from those annoying characters and enjoy the amazing possibilities of realistic driving on a big and successful map, collecting and fulfilling various collecting activities and challenges and looking for the best places where I can take a screenshot with a newly tuned car.

In addition to the considerable care devoted to the vehicles, which are truly absolutely beautiful, Criterion also put a lot of care into the level design. I can't even remember the last time I had fun with the world itself in the Need for Speed series (maybe only in NFS Heat).
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Chicago-inspired Lakeshore City.

If you put aside the uninteresting story with the woke propaganda and focus purely on the car part, Unbound succeeds, despite initial concerns about its wild style. 70%

Counter-Strike is the most popular multiplayer game of all time, completely unrivaledly crushing all competitors on the online scene.
And CS Source is a conversion of the proven Counter-Strike into the modern Source engine, basically it is a better CS 1.6 and the predecessor of CS 2.
So it is a conversion of the original CS with everything from maps, player models, weapons and game style. In this, the authors have not deviated from the original concept in any way, but the game does not bring "just" a new coat of the already known, as was the case with the raw conversion of Half-Life: Source. The power of the new engine is very noticeable and at first glance it is a significant shift in appeal, supported in addition to a significant increase in the number of polygons and texture quality by a number of effects such as reflections, shadows, shimmering water surfaces, etc.

Among the many changes, which are really many, I would like to highlight the shooting system, which eliminated the previously frequent accidental killing in the form of unpredictable hits during burst fire, stray bullets, random headshots and other ailments that spoiled the game. Now everything is much more believable, which contributes to a much more authentic perception of the game.

On the one hand, it might seem that CS Source does not bring anything new, on the other hand, you can find quite a lot of various improvements.
However, the game never managed to replace CS 1.6. 60%

On one side, the evil empire of Valardul led by the dark mage Vez'nan, and on the other, the human kingdom of Linirea led by King Denas. These two archenemies will be forced to join forces and form an alliance, because an ancient and powerful evil has risen from the depths of the earth.
Personally, this alliance doesn't make much sense to me, since the last four games saw the armies of good and evil massacre each other, and I'm afraid the creators are running out of ideas. The best change for me is the ability to use two heroes at the same time.

However, this doesn't mean that KR 5 Alliance isn't a good game, it's just that after the last successful games, the creators set the quality too high and it obviously can't be kept that high forever.
Ironhide Studio announced that it will be intensively working on the game and upgrades throughout the next year, so we can expect additional mini-campaigns, new heroes, and new towers. 70%

The Shrouded Isle will show you that being the high priest of a dark god is a pretty dangerous job.

Any job, including picking flowers in a green field, can be stressful if your boss is a big enough bully. However, the threat of being yelled at, humiliated, having your bonuses taken away, or even fired is nothing compared to what awaits you as the high priest of the Slavic god Chernobog. As his name suggests, this boss will not tolerate any failures. If you don't sacrifice enough people and burn enough heretical books, he will climb out of the ocean and unleash a tirade that your rapidly cooling corpses won't be able to handle. Career prospects in The Shrouded Isle are very short-lived indeed.

The Shrouded Isle simply looks like a pleasantly depressing murder simulator with a very unique artistic expression. It's worth noting that you can swap out the basic green and black color scheme for a different color scheme if you don't want to spend a few hours feeling like you're staring at the contents of a bucket full of vomit. It's also important to know that one playthrough is usually quite short - don't expect a long campaign. Fortunately, there are 6 different endings, so there's place for replayability. 15%

Charles Reed, a former Navy diver turned private investigator with unexplained visions, is not alone in his strange visions and doubts about reality. The citizens of the isolated town of Oakmont suffer from similar delusions, which is an opportunity for the private eye to find the source of his insane illness.

But once he lands on the shores of a half-flooded city, where misery and ruin are the new norm, all sorts of events will seemingly distance him from his goal. And here comes the reason why you should play The Sinking City. A great detective work from Frogwares, which makes the Sherlock Holmes series a worthy game adaptation of the original.

The creators also use a mind palace in their latest game, where your findings from interviews with witnesses and suspects and from examining the crime scene are collected. Yes, you will pick up many objects, turn them and look for interesting things on them. You will read many, many letters, notes, diaries, newspaper articles, threatening messages, but also completely unrelated excerpts that add atmosphere to the game.

The detective has been given supernatural abilities related to his hallucinations. Thanks to them, he can reveal hidden objects to an ordinary citizen, as well as entire rooms. He can also replay the events preceding the crime, and it is up to you to determine their correct order. And to make matters worse, strange silhouettes from another world can navigate him to the escaped criminal, similar to the hitchhiking in the third Witcher.

Where (fish)people and evidence are of no help, one of the archives will come in handy. At the police station, you can find out the identity of the perpetrator based on the crime, in the newspaper you can find a cannery through an ad, and in the library you can find additional information about one of the many religions.

It is in these cases that The Sinking City excels, because it requires you to engage your brain. Archives are an exact science, so if you enter any of the required information incorrectly, you will not get the result. For example, if you are looking for a patient with a gunshot wound to the shoulder in a hospital, you will not enter the string Personnel-Therapeutic Department-19th century (the game takes place after World War I).

The Sinking City is a good detective game. Unfortunately, the term detective is accompanied by the words RPG and action, which simply have no place here. Not in this form. As a whole, it simply does not work as expected and you will have to make a lot of concessions to enjoy wandering around the flooded city. If you can pull it off, you will get a decent game in an attractive environment. 30%

World War II veteran Vito Scaletta arrives in Empire Bay, NY, on a month-long leave due to an injury, but in the end he never returns to the front. He is helped by his old friend, Joe Barbaro, and his connections on the wrong side of the law. The banknotes change hands, Vito hides fake discharge papers in his pocket, and a new episode of his life can begin.
And it will be a chapter colored with blood, gunpowder, betrayal, intrigue, a lot of broken cars, and most importantly, a growing ambition to be someone who means something. Because of it, the central couple takes on ever greater risks, which bear fruit for a while, but what happened to the jug and the ear?

In Mafia II, you can expect a number of strong scenes, funny conversations, and hilarious moments. At the same time, the rather awkward conclusion, a bit of eye-catching moralizing, readable twists, and several moments with the flavor of gods from the machine, have not disappeared. However, despite its minor flaws, the story is definitely worth listening to.

A slightly nicer Mafia II with all its pros and cons. It has aged quite well and anyone who hasn't played it now has the opportunity to do so comfortably on modern systems. 90%

The story of the series revolves around an alien invasion that you will face as a super soldier dressed in a special nanosuit equipped with several modes for different situations. Thanks to this, you can approach the problems as you wish... If you just want to sneak around enemies, just activate invisibility and that's it. If you prefer a more action-packed approach, send energy to the shields and you will become a walking tank. As a bonus, the suit also gives the hero superhuman strength and speed, thanks to which you can, for example, cut down trees with your bare hands and jump like a mushroomed Mario.

The game should be approached as a historical experience, which will probably appeal most to nostalgic memories, because the remaster only concerns graphic improvements. But, to be fair, it is still a decently functioning shooter with "predatory" abilities, destructible buildings and the ability to throw large barrels of gasoline at the poor Koreans.

I recommend Crysis remastered rather as a must before playing the other two parts, so that it is quite obvious how it all started. Of course, for veterans of the series, it's a nice refresher. 40%

After the Olympic massacre, Kratos moved north in his old age, where he grew a beard, exchanged the blades of chaos for the icy edge of an axe and felling trees, won the heart of a beautiful woman and fathered a son, Atreus, with her. However, the peaceful idyll of the snowy landscape with deer hunting, fishing and, above all, rarely interrupted silence cannot last forever, because Kratos' chosen one comes from the ranks of ordinary mortals. In order to at least partially come to terms with her departure for eternity, father and son set out to fulfill her last wish, to scatter her ashes from the highest place in the world. After all, this should not be a problem for the god and his offspring, when the path to the majestic peak of Midgard leads almost directly from their garden. However, the death of his wife and mother sets off events much more serious than one small family drama. The presence of the retired Spartan invader has not gone unnoticed, and the last thing the Norse pantheon needs is a mass extermination by an enraged mountain of muscles and a freezing blade. Kratos would rather forget his past and carefully hides his divine origin from Atreus in an effort not to repeat the mistakes of his own father Zeus, which makes him a cold and taciturn pedant right from the start, whom his son cannot please at any cost. "You are not ready for this journey," he repeats to him over and over again, criticizing his impatience while hunting, his explosiveness, and his inherited temperament.

Does this seem surprising to you, given the previously furious fear of all deities? Kratos has definitely aged. He has become wiser and more serious. And it worked out well for him, because mindless slashing at everything that moves, while roaring loudly, can only entertain for a relatively limited time, which he has seriously filled with seven games. The hatred and distrust of the corrupted and spoiled gods remained regardless of latitude, as did the Spartan anger, but over the years he has also developed another, much more human side. Which does not mean that we would be deprived of that slashing.

I appreciate the greater emphasis placed on the story, which manages to seem mature, exciting and avoid glaring clichés, while in the environment of something as boiled down as Greek and Norse mythology distilled over centuries. 85%

The Empress is dead, long live the Empress!
While Emily Kaldwin returns to Dunwall with her father to rightfully sit on her regained throne, the captain of the Dreadful Wale - Meagan Foster has other worries. In addition to having a secret identity in the form of Billie Lurk, the right hand of the famous assassin Daud, she has a difficult task ahead of her. As the title of the game suggests - she must kill the Outsider. What exactly is this mysterious guy with black eyes, who gives philosophical talks and gives magical abilities to the chosen inhabitants of the empire? And is it really possible to destroy a divine entity that dwells in a mystical world where only the dreamers and the dying are allowed?

Unlike Corvo and Emily, our "heroine" does not bear the Outsider's mark, but that does not mean that he did not give her a little supernatural power. In a somewhat involuntary exchange for half of her face and right hand, you gain three abilities after the opening mission. Foresight, which allows Billie to stop time, mark enemies or points of interest, even through walls. Displace, which is similar to Blink from previous games, or teleport. And finally Semblance, thanks to which you can borrow someone's appearance for a while and move between enemies without arousing suspicion.
In addition to her supernatural abilities, Billie also has a wide arsenal of weapons that will greatly facilitate both sneaking and action-oriented progress through the game.

Unfortunately, the ending is rather anticlimactic and feels like a pretty definitive end to the series, which does not prevent further spin-offs or prequels.
A pleasant duty for stealth fans and for those who have not yet had enough of Dishonored's gameplay. 65%

You play as a fairy who jumps through obstacles. You only need one finger and good timing to play. Nevertheless, the game is incredibly easy and it will take you an hour to skip all 10 levels and reveal other (not so) interesting pictures of the horny chosen one.

Very simple and short game. I can only recommend it for the simple reason of getting 100% achievements. 5%
