At the moment the game isn't really worth getting, I would recommend that you wait until it is out of the early access stage. Here are a few problems that I have encountered that make the game very frustrating, I'll also add some good points as the game isn't completely hopeless

1. When you are crouched and try to sprint your character seems to be locked into an animation where they are slowly walking but you are clearly sprinting, this speed is slower than the default walking speed and has got me killed on more than one occasion.

2. perhaps not a bug per say but something that needs fixing regardless and that is the optimization isn't the best. I find myself playing on every single graphics option and I still find myself capping around 30 - 40 ping, while this isn't a bad thing it isn't exactly fun playing a poor looking game on low fps. On occasions you'll find yourself dropping to an outrageous 10 ping which renders the game unplayable to an extent, I know it isn't my PC because I can play games like PUBG on high settings and average about 60 fps.

3. Perhaps another fault of the optimization, the new (and very cool feature i might add) ability to communicate with all other survivors through a group chat on a phone appears to be very blurry and trying to make out any messages can be daunting at times.

4. During the tutorial, after becoming corrupted and trying to "warp" with your darkness power you are unable to exit this mode as attempting to results in a strange screen where you can see in first person but everything is bright white and you can't exit this strange bug without ending the tutorial all together which can be frustrating because you sort of need it to beat the tutorial.

5. This is more of an overall con, the animation of your character, whether it be the killer or the survivor, is very clunky, running and jumping don't feel right and depending on how you look at animation when buying a game, this can very easily turn your head towards another survival horror game like DBD, Friday the 13th, Deceit etc.

Now the game isn't exactly all faults and bad news, there are some features and ideas that I think, if improved and implemented, could increase the player count and the games success exponentially.

1. The whole battle royal feature as a whole never really struck me until this game arrived, having a closing circle means you're always on your feet and never hiding in one spot consecutively. Also knowing that the killer changes after their corruption meter drains to 0% makes you think that hiding with other survivors isn't usually the best idea.

2. The previously mentioned texting mechanic isn't as bad as you might think, if the blurry texture of the messages is changed then the game will not only look nicer but it will also make it a lot more playable.

3. Perhaps making it so the killer can hear the buzzing of your phone whenever a survivor is nearby, sure finding survivors as a killer can be easy at times but why not go that extra mile. As of right now I believe the only noises the killer can hear from you are your footsteps, noises of pain you make when hit or outside the zone and you flashlight, however being able to give away your friends position with a text could be an interesting feature IMO.

4.This is more of a pet peeve but I feel like the killers just look too boring to be real killers. When you imagine a killer called 'Fisherman' you would think of a tall, slim and slightly goofy looking man that has a running animation similar to that of the 'Hillbilly' from DBD, perhaps covered in seaweed and other strange substances and overall just looking like something out of your local river. Instead we got a guy who looks like he hasn't stayed off the weekly fixture and a few pints every weekend and has a bit of a belly going on, combine that with a hood and a speargun and you have a mediocre looking killer that could look so much more threatening.

5. Finally is a simple one but one we need if the game is going to flourish and it's one that not a lot of other games of this genre can match and that is alternate game modes. Sure we already have two interesting game modes in 'Last man standing' and 'Escape' but I feel like some more game modes to really hit with different audiences.

Overall I believe this game has potential to be great so long as the developers don't give up on it after a couple of months, maybe they should've waited a couple more months to release it in a more playable state. I will revisit my review in the future if the game starts to pick up some new features and overall polished content but as of right now I can't recommend the game to anyone, buy this game if it drops to a decent offer but at full price/10,20,30% off, stay away for now.
