've always liked the artwork on the AOE2 covers. In AOK you have a stern looking European king looking to forge his empire, with a mean looking Viking and Samurai warrior behind him. Sums up the mood of the game completely.
In the conquerors you get that mournful face of the Aztec emperor, a face of bitterness and sadness and you can almost see a little tear appearing in the corner of his eye. The Saracen and Teutonic(?) warriors aren't great but nicely drawn anyway.
But what the hell is with the art in African Kingdoms??? The main guy looks cocky as if to say 'yeah that's right ♥♥♥♥♥♥ we wuz kingz n ♥♥♥♥♥'. I don't have an issue with the other African guy beside him, but the white king is looking at the African like he had just had sex with his wife and he is powerless to do anything about it. Seriously wtf is with this racist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
