I admit, I dropped Helldivers 2 for a bit around when they started getting weird with the balancing. But coming back to it the past few months has been as much of a blast as when I first got it. Its fun, and has its quirks, but generally its a horde game that I can pop into, do a couple missions and pop off after a bit and had fun the whole time. This is one of the few games where I've actually spent money on micro transactions, so take that as you will.

My only complaint is the lack of progression. Once you complete the free battlepass, there is no more progression you can do. No new guns, cosmetics, what have you and the game grinds to a halt (at least for me, which is mainly the reason why I took a break). For sure, someone who was better at managing their Supercredits may not have this problem, as you do get a good amount for free so perhaps I'm in the minority. But if you fumble or decide to buy something, the game loses that progression. I wouldn't even say it becomes grindy because you grind for nothing, there is no way to progress. I feel like after enough time, it would be neat if older battle passes had their prices cut or even made free so players have SOMETHING to work towards that give immediate changes to the way the game plays.

Even so, I come back to hell divers and have some fun.
