Roguelike's are one of my favorite genre's of games, and Risk of Rain is an absolute gem of its kind. Hopoo games was even kind enough to include a minimum of 5 guaranteed rage quits that comes complimentary with every copy of the game.

Often times Risk of Rain 2 can seem like you're excessively overpowered and broken, just for the game to turn around and break you in an instant. Oh, you've spent 45 minutes on this run in an attempt to become strong enough to beat Mithrix? Blap. Sorry, you blinked and just got deleted. Please go back to the beginning and restart, better luck next time :)

Risk of Rain is exciting at times when luck is on your side, and dreadful at others when you're just getting spammed with useless items that hinder your run rather than help it. Some runs you'll be running around one shotting everything, until you make one wrong move or decision, then you're the one that gets one shot with seemingly little to nothing you could've done to prevent it. It's painful, punishing, preposterous, and praiseworthy.

I'd recommend playing the game if you're a masochist that has some solid determination, but casuals beware. Risk of Rain is not for the faint of heart :')

God, this was an absolute trip down memory lane :') The Spyro trilogy was the first set of games I played as a 6 year old in roughly 2003, and at that time we didn't have a 128kb memory card for my PS1, so every time I'd shut off my console I'd have to start from square one again.

I like to think that if 6 year old me knew that 19 years later, I had gone back and completed the Spyro trilogy in it's full as a 25 year old adult, he'd be pretty dang stoked. Especially knowing that after all these years I've finally gotten my well deserved, and long awaited revenge on Mr. Moneybags.

Replaying these games gave me an incomparable and indescribable flood of nostalgia that was definitely complimented by the modern graphics of the remastered version. The graphics made the game feel inviting and not so outdated, they were improved and different, but definitely not unrecognizable. There's also an 'enhanced' soundtrack, which was close enough to the original that I still remembered the sounds and notes from most of them which was a real treat.

If there was one thing I wish the game featured, it would be the option to toggle the graphics from the old models and newer ones. There were many points where I wish I could've been interacting with the old models of Hunter and Elora specifically, mostly during the skateboarding events, because those are what I was looking forward to and what stuck with me the most from when I was a kiddo.

Thank you for this lovely revival of one of my favorite childhood games. <3

Please bring back Ape Escape ;)

I went into raft knowing nearly nothing about it, which I feel like was the best way to do it. Let me tell ya, there's far more to it than meets the eye. I thought it was just going to be a silly game where you float through the ocean and collect trash so you can make a bigger raft, but I was definitely mistaken, that's just the very surface level.

The sense of accomplishment I experienced after getting through the early game struggle of being at the mercy of the wind and tides, and was finally take control of where I wanted to go was incomparable, and only scaled from there. The gradual unlocks you get throughout the story that improve your overall quality of life are satisfyingly rewarding and coincide with each other in a very logical and useful way.

Raft has been hands down one of my favorite playthroughs of any game I've played in my lifetime. Often times have a hard time feeling truly captivated and immersed by a game, but raft does that effortlessly. I can't remember the last time I've been so eager to be able to log on & play a game so I can explore everything it has to offer.

It's rare to find a game as enjoyable, relaxing, yet engaging like raft has been so far, I'm taking my sweet time getting through the story and am currently only about midway through. I've been thoroughly enjoying exploring islands, taming animals, gathering resources, and building/customizing my raft instead. The amount of decorative pieces and customization options available in the building are amazing, and it's UI is also very user friendly and easily understandable.

12/10 - All in all I can't recommend this game enough, it's the perfect ocean survival and exploration game, and lands itself right up there with Subnautica in my heart <3

The concept of this game is admirable. It's so simple, yet so difficult and punishing.
