I'm a console player with 700+ hours on this game, I know what I'm talking about, so when I say this game is a 10/10... I MEAN IT. it has 100's of different things to do, most of it involving hunting monsters. from the lowly Jagras to the Black Dragon Fatalis. now... I'd say to take your time with this game. you can dump a solid 50+ hours in Low-Rank alone. most of it could be hunting something like Anjanath or Rathalos to capturing simple Endemic creatures for your room. fishing is viable too, for collecting the fish just for fun or even looking for the ones that drop specific items essential to making more advanced items to aid in your hunts.
Zorah Magdaros is definitely something that proves your worth as a Monster Hunter. it's the first solid roadblock i'd say.

High-Rank somehow has hundreds more hours of content. doing the main story or even doing the Crossover quests such as playing as THE Geralt Of Rivia or fighting Behemoth from Final Fantasy. those are just very, very small tidbits of High-Rank. I'll let you discover the rest of that Rank.

Master-Rank is where the REAL hunt begins. it'll surely test your worth as a Hunter. and believe me when I say... DON'T you DARE select the Guardian Armor. it ruins any and all fun the starting sections have, and if you're new? have fun not learning any of the basics as you face-tank your way to Master-Rank, only to get 2-shot by every Monster.


Basically, it's the best game ever made and nothing will ever capture the magic it has. this is a fact, not subjective in the slightest.

So, if you want a TLDR, the game is a 10/10 when compared to others in it's genre. maybe a 8.5/10 overall.

Now, for an actual review. Deep Rock Galactic is one of those games that just HITS right y'know? it's all about working with your fellow dwarves for a common purpose, getting RICH! now, enemies in the game are quite varied, nothing crazy but all different enough that you usually gotta do something different for each. Grunts? just shoot em, hatchlings? boom, boom time. ones that shoot you from range? gotta snipe 'em with an accurate gun. big ones? usually dodging to get a shot at a weak spot. the game has so much variety with stuff it is truly divine. the classes are all COMPLETELY different! Scout... scouts, yeah I haven't done much with him but that's the basics, I guess he can light up stuff too and deal quick DPS. Engineer is a godly support, placing platforms, buildin' sentries. all of those great support things, and if need be... he can blow them to high hell with Grenade launcher rounds. Gunner is a Tanky sort of Support, great for mowing down rows of enemies and then throwing down a shield to keep the lads safe. his grappling hook gun thing is great for support, a nice ride back and forth. Driller is good at lots of things, mowing enemies down, Support, and MINING! that is his main gimmick aside from accidentally blowing teammates up.

Overall, it's a great game. even better with friends. seriously, get friends and play this with them.
