Ah yes, Terraria. This is a game I've put nearly 1200 hours into (a mixture of base game and TModLoader), and I can thoroughly say I love it. There are a few things that definitely can drive a newer player away, such as difficulty in the early game, as well as overall feeling of weakness, but once you move past that, it's a neverending drive of dopamine. The devs drip feed you power as you make your way through the biomes and bosses of the early game, before slamming a hammer into your skull as soon as you reach hardmode, and I love it. This game is perfect and all around one of my favorite titles of all time. I don't want to spoil anything about this game, but it's certainly taken up a majority of my time, and each update seems to feel all so different. The devs actually put time and care into creating updates, listening to the community as they include quality of life and interesting yet not super game-changing changes. Despite this, each update makes previous versions actively feel outdated, especially with the 1.4 Journey's End update. This game is seemingly done, but I don't think the devs will leave it quite yet, and the modding community is probably one of the best I have ever seen for a game, even more than Minecraft. Mods such as the Calamity Mod, Thorium, Mod of Redemption, and plenty more feel like entire expansions, with some of them even doubling the size of the game in itself. 10/10. Please don't just write this game off because it's kinda hard in the beginning and it looks like 2d minecraft. It's not, it's honestly a masterpiece.
