First off, the intro sequence is like an adrenaline shot of 40k distilled into 10 minutes of action. Had me from the beginning.

An amazing sequel, & an even better entry for anyone new to the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It does what it sets out to in glorious style, but I do have issue with a few later set-pieces for the campaign, Chekov's gun Saber.

Speaking of metaphorical guns, the actual firearm selection in this game will leave any novice or advanced 40k fan pleased. I've never enjoyed meltas and bolters more.

The character driven part of the story leaves a bit to be desired, once I felt like characters were starting to get motivated and have arcs the game is in its final act. Space Marines are difficult to do 'human' experiences with, but you could at least try. I cared more about if a random imperial commander survived than other space marines.

The eternal war game mode is fun, surprisingly balanced in my 50 or so games. It has the feel of a game from a previous generation, & the operations are enjoyable (with the exception of mission 5) although the mixed currency across the operations, customization, and perks for operations was a bit confusing at first.

It puts a notable chapter master on screen for what I think is his first on-screen appearance, the tyranid swarms feel & act threateningly, but despite how nice the chaos enemies look I find fighting them less interesting & less difficult than the tyranids. More xenos Saber, less evil blue space marines!

They clearly love the universe & I can't wait for more, its nice to be a 40k fan and see a 40k game be made by fans too, for a while GW was handing that 40k license to any company with a pulse and it got...grim.

This however is an amazing game, This might be the only triple A title I've bought this year I didn't regret.
