It may sound basic, but having drivers updated, your gpu app properly configured, and vacuum cleaning/dusting off your cpu helps a lot as well.
Other than that, not sure what could cause a sudden downgrade in performance.

There are ''good'' and 'bad' patches in your gpu software as well, some versions are, for whatever reason, slightly more compatible with your setup than others.

yeah unfortunately going offline entirely has been the biggest thing that has made ER run more smoothly for me. I'm still not entirely sure what caused it to start running as poorly as it did recently tho as it has only just recently begun running as poorly as it does now and before then i would generally have a relatively consistent 60 fps.

If it helps, there's people out there with 4090's and i11's that still have heavy frame drops in ER.

After months and months of researching for heavy optimization (without losing quality), I've been able to run it at semi-consistent 60 fps on...70? 80% of the game?
There's still some mayor areas that struggle like crazy.

EAC is indeed a pain in the ass. Tested without it, flawless game.
The damned thing also doesn't prevent a good portion of the more annoying cheats, and also usually creates artificial latency (around 100+ ms as well, not something small).

EAC legit the biggest scam of this gaming generation
