Disclaimer - I played this game with keyboard controls because I don't own a controller, and that no doubt has influenced how I view the game. Take everything I say with a grain of salt, this is all my opinion.

This game is so cool, in concept. But in execution it ends up being frustrating, has poor camera controls and poorly telegraphed attacks that ultimately just annoyed me instead of immersing me. The last stage especially made me just want to be done with the game instead of see what happens next, even though in concept everything that happens in it is really cool. Alot of the movement and platforming feels in-precise and slippery, it feels like I'm trying to carve a delicate sculpture with a sledgehammer. The mech stages are frustrating and turning feels awful, the treasure hunt stages feel like a chore and the action race stages suffer from alot of general movement issues, the homing attack especially feels super inconsistent. Alot of the cutscenes suffer alot from poor localization and pacing, and as a result have awkward pacing and end way too early.

This game would benefit greatly from a complete remake in my opinion. There's undoubtebly a great story here, and I'd love to see it done proper justice gameplay-wise. I can definitely see why alot of people love this game, but near the end it just wasn't really for me.
