If Nintendo won't make another F-Zero game, WE will! This is a sentence I've come to terms with over the years. Seeing Nintendo barely touch an IP that they own and never innovate or resurrect it in any meaningful form hurts my soul. But if there's anyone I can trust, it's the Indie scene. Aero-GPX is an anti-gravity arcade racer created by indie developer, Aaron McDevitt. Boy, where do I begin?

Gameplay: 9/10 The anti-gravity formula mastered to a T!! Tight, precise, speedy, rewarding and beyond a thrill! If you've ever played any of the F-Zero games, you'll feel RIGHT at home with this game. If you're someone who's new to Anti-Gravity racers, this is the perfect game to get into. Aero GPX includes a unique feature I haven't seen in any racing game, and I love it so much: Drill Diving. So in Anti-Gravity racers, you're wielding both a racing vehicle and a high speed aircraft, thus being able to maintain full control of both the ground and the air. Aero GPX takes advantage of the air state by introducing the ability to drill dive, which lets you dive straight down, gaining more speed the higher you dive from air to ground. I LOVE this mechanic, it gives me the extra thrill I sense for in high-speed anti-gravity racers. I hope more games take note of this mechanic. As of this review, it's in early access, which is perfectly fine. So not everything is set-in-stone for the game's post release content. As of now there's a healthy handful of courses, but I look forward to seeing more in the future. I just wish this game had multiplayer in some capacity, whether it'd be splitscreen or online. If this was possible, I'd give this game an EASY 10/10, but for now, 9 will suffice. It's definitely high up there for one of the greatest racing games ever, but the lack of multiplayer knocks it down to a 9 and not a 10.

Graphics: 9/10 very beautiful aesthetic overall. The atmosphere, cars, pilots and UI all compliment each other without being too polarizing. The cell-shaded style is very nice here.

Story: Won't affect the rating. I know F-Zero had a plot back in GX, but to be honest, I don't think many people really care that much for plot in racing games that much, don't quote me on that.

Music: 10/10 High-speed aggressive rock, absolutely LOVE it. From the strings of Myrone, an LA based guitarist, producer and composer, the OST to this game kicks ass and blows away non-believers! Metal, hard-hitting and rapid fire music, melting the audience's face! The entire OST is incredible!

Overall: 9/10 Blistering speeds, addicting gameplay, beautifully-executed graphics and kick ass music, Aero GPX is THE Anti-Gravity racer I recommend you pick up, full price or on sale.
