July 14 Edit: Steam Deck Note

Have logged in a few times and the game is unresponsive to the deck. Was able to fix this by verifying the integrity of game files.

Overall works excellently on the Steam Deck. Only issue has mostly been for text screens. Before you hit Steam + X, just make sure you touch the on-screen text box.

THEY USED THE SAME BACKGROUND MUSIC AND AUDIO CLIPS FOR ACTIONS <3<3<3

Lots of quality of life fixes from the originals. Watering plants isn't so touchy, in-water fish icon during fishing, shipping bins and ledger are directly outside now, the main crop fields are a bit bigger, and you can skip character intros - just to name a few.

Still can't steal Romana's cats though. Maybe one day ;-; </3

I really like how they've kept how all the individual characters walked in the original. It's small, but noticeable. A lot of throwbacks to the original games just with better graphics and overall gameplay improvements. I feel like I'm literally just playing an improved version of the original.

The marriage candidates REALLY got some glam-ups. Marlin Matthew really has the brooding anime guy look going for him now. It'll be between him, Gordy, Nami or, and this shocks me to say considering I hated his original design - Gustafa. RIP Rock - I'm just not looking for a Backstreet Boy.

New players might get bored of this pretty fast. Any of the people playing for the nostalgia I can say the full price would be worth it. If this is your first time with Another/Wonderful Life, you might want to wait until it goes on sale. It can get monotonous, but for anyone who played the originals - it won't be an issue for you. Word of the wise for any new people, make sure you befriend Nina and Galen early!

They give you a bit of help when you first start. I don't remember being given like 2k and an apple tree seed in the originals? I'd survived purely on the Mugworts I was picking for almost the entire first season.

This remaster is everything I've ever wanted.
