Base game is really enjoyable, you have a diverse choice of builds you can make, you have decent difficulty range (I went with tactician on first playthrough loved the power spike mobs got as you progress in the story), Mods that Larian added to the game are good and the mod community is also up there with some of the added classes, spells or misc mods.
