No Man's Sky truly had a terrible launch, and as someone who pre-ordered the game expecting to be blown away by the vast amount of things to do and the many diverse species and landscapes to see, I was fairly disappointed. The game was sort of like a wasteland for a while, lacking multiplayer, exciting space combat, and much diversity in planet designs. After several updates of content, including base building on land and underwater, buggies, space fleets, a story with up to 30 hours of content, multiplayer, VR, among others, the game has truly become what was once promised at launch. The game still has its problems and I'm not going to say it’s perfect by any means, but the experience and joy this game provides to people is quite astounding. The game's soundtrack is stellar, and the environments are beautiful and diverse. People really like to hate on this game, and while some of it is justified for the game's false promises at launch, Hello Games is truly amazing for not running away with their profit and instead choosing to invest it into making the game itself better. This game has a great community and an even greater development team that truly cares about the well-being of the game. This game is a perfect example of how a game can go from a disaster to something great, and how Sean Murray and his team pushed through the hate to create the game they had always envisioned. If you can overlook some repetition and issues the game has and just want a relaxing and fun survival game to play alone or with friends, I would definitely recommend it.
