6 months ago the game had only 1 area and a half to explore. The content shown on the trailer didn't match what the game had to offer and it was a huge let down. Now, even if the final product is still unfinished (*we are still in Early Access*), what is presented is satisfying to play and actually challenging.

The game has grown quite a lot in these 6 months. New content has been introduced and the early concepts have been revisited to improve upon the great foundation that was presented. With the pace that the developers are following, and their active listening towards the community, the game can only get better. I'd say that the game is worth buying as is, but one could also wait until the full release; your choice.
