THE best RTS game of it's time. Though it's outdated my today's standards, and honestly I didnt see much of a difference visually in the HD version, it's mechanics are solid, and the game is truly entertaining.

I have never had so much fun playing a C&C game. Combat is imbalanced at times, but really fun and over the top which is basically the theme of this game. Everything from giant mechs to ridiculous live-acting make this game the gem that it is.

Make no mistake. This is an Age of Empires 2 clone, reskinned to be Star Wars. But what is wrong with that? AOE 2 was amazing. So is Star Wars. Gladly added to my library.

This game catches alot of flak for trying to do too much at once, and failing to flesh it's components out enough. I personally didn't mind that all that much. I treat it like the evolution sandbox that it is. Honestly the most fun I've had playing this game is from cell stage to the beginning of space age. I feel like while space age gameplay is the most complicated and expanded upon, it's also the most boring. I loved making the creatures, and roleplaying evolution. Do yourself a favor. Don't completley reconstruct a creature in a differing shape and with completley different better parts. Think about how it would ACTUALLY evovle, and try to keep yourself within those limits. Make your own story for your race. Why do their buildings have spikes on them? Are they agressive? Do they wear armor on the weak spot on their neck? If you do this I promise you the game will mean much more to you.

The absolute only reason I recommend this game is because of its 0.0 price tag. Why not add it to your library? I gave it a shot and it would be great if the flight controls were better designed. I spent my entire time playing flying at warp speed bouncing off asteroids and space stations.

It's predecessor, in my opinion, was the best game ever made. The sequel, while improving on many facets of the mechanics and gameplay, doesn't live up story-wise to the first one. However it's redeeming qualities outweigh it's shortcomings by a wide margin. It's single most distressing quality though, is the incredibly rushed, unfinished state the game was released in. Not only did it have a few minor bugs, but whole chunks of content were completley missing. If you can tell that a portion of a level or plotline should have been there and just did not lead anywhere or was eluded to through in-game conversation or similar plot devices, and ended up not existing, the game is not ready to be released, unless you remove all mention of those features, levels, or plotlines. I won't give spoilers here, but they actually removed an entire planet, because they didn't have time to finish it. If you don't mind modding however, there are some fan-made content restoration packs that really make the game how it should have been when it was released, so if you get this game, make sure you get the "finished version". That having been said, it still is one of my favorite games, just falling short of KOTOR 1, so if you liked the first game, give this one a try too.

I can only really see enjoying this game if you are a hardcore Lovecraftian fanboy.

Lightsaber combat. No game has even come close to doing it right. Except this one. In this game, the jedi energy weapon of choice, feels, looks, and actually is deadly. You will not have to strike an enemy four times with lightsaber to finish him off like in most games. Unless you opponent is blocking with personal shields, or a lightsaber of their own, your blade with cut through them like a hot knife through butter. But beware, because one wrong move and a Sith warrior might do the same to you. This game features a simple create-a-character system with a few customization options, but where it really shines in it's combat system. Featuring a crazy amount of ranged weapons, including: Blasters, Grendades, Missle Launchers, and many more, and varied lightsabers (Dual, Double-bladed, or three unique single saber styles), this game just rocks. If you like Star Wars, get it for sure.

I'm a fan of text based games if they are done really well. And this one even has amazingly drawn art to help it along. It nails story, atmosphere and even has some RPG elements like picking a class, or getting a special weapon. But after awhile it becomes trying to remember what decisions you made last playthrough, that gave you those stats you need now for this character, but you end up getting stats that would have helped you on your previous one. I have yet to beat the game, because it really requires you to know every exact result of every decision to get a successful ending, and have no desire to use a walkthrough just to achieve a victory.

I guess the learning curve is just far too steep here, which is really dissapointing because these type of games really intrigue me. Maybe if it had a small tutorial, or an in-game guide I could give it a thumbs-up, but as is, it was so frustrating trying to learn, I didn't even bother trying to look up a strategy guide online.
