You know, I bought the first Punch Club years ago on some Steam sale and then it stayed in my library, unplayed, for several years until about a month ago when I finally gave the game a shot and absolutely loved it!

I was thrilled to find out there was a sequel coming out in less than a month, and I quickly pre-ordered it, even though there was one thing that concerned me about this sequel — its setting.

I have never liked cyberpunk. Not in movies, not in video games, not in anime, not in other forms of media. I don't mind stories taking place in futuristic settings, but the whole dystopian, technocratic hellscape settings that have completely permeated various forms of media in recent years, never appealed to me, but I thought to myself, "I loved the first game so much. I might still enjoy this!" and hoped for the best.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get into it after all. One thing that appeals to me about playing video games is how they offer an escape from reality. Punch Club 2, of course, takes place in a very colorful and exaggerated world, but it still comes a bit too close to how dystopian and dysfunctional our real world is and where it will, most likely, end up in the near future. I just find it too depressing to keep playing and the game's setting really takes away the fun that I, no doubt, could've had if the game was a more straightforward sequel to the original.

Every one of your reviews is negative unless it's an anime pornography game LMAO.

To the developing team of Punch Club 2: Fast Forward:

I didn't plan on doing this at first, but I have refunded your product. As I hope you can tell from the other comments under this review, the fanbase for your game has not sent their best and I don't feel like supporting your studio if your games attract these types of rabid fanboys who cannot handle a single negative review.

I hope you understand my decision and I wish you luck with your future projects, despite everything!

@lemonade stand proprietor The only thing a review has to be is to reflect the honest opinion of the reviewer. My review does just that. Whether you perceive it as unfair, biased, or irrational is irrelevant to me. My subjective opinion is my subjective opinion. If you don't like it, you are free to go take a hike.

Otherwise, I don't know why you're sticking around here. You are wasting both mine and your own time with pointless comments.

It's a really bad review on a brand new game. Uncharitable to these indie devs and unfairly judged. It's one thing to have a logical complaint about the execution of their vision, this tire fire is another thing entirely.

When I find something that disgusts me so much that I have to stick around to emphasize how bad it is, that should tell you something because I am not the type to do that for no reason, completely randomly.

Don't even own this game yet or the first one, I am not even biased. I'm biased against bad-faith reviews. And more generally this idea that everyone should have a "Take" nowadays.

My main man Marcus Aurelius said "You are not compelled to form any opinion about matters before you, let them disturb your peace of mind" and that "things in themselves have no power to extort a verdict from you" literal centuries ago.

@lemonade stand proprietor And yet you chose to spend your time making troll comments on a random Steam review :arcadequestion:

I love this planet and I feel a sense of belonging and unity with nature. Most people are cool too but some are ruinously greedy. That's my biggest complaint.
