Story 4/10 - the majority of chapters feel like they are fillers (3-10), lack of logic in the other chapters (how could a guy-20-years-in-prison beat a lieutenant-assassin who knows martial arts 1vs1 in chapter 2?). In all its' seriousness it's not so serious. Also, I liked Tojo clan.
Characters 6/10 - Arakawa and Jo are excellent, others are mediocre at best.
Protagonist 0/10 - I haven't come here to watch Shonen main hero talking about friendship crap.
Combat system 2/10 - it's not only bad itself because of its junkiness. Turn-based combat implementation leads to repetitiveness, grindwalls, lack of good boss fights (no QTE/dynamic intros), THE MOST STUPID CRAFTING EVER. Funny thing though, people could actually speedrun main stories in other games, but it is impossible here because of this system - they will have to grind.
Fan service 0/10 - don't you even dare bring old characters in Ichiban story again - my memories are still fresh.
Music 7/10 - good, but not so diverse, needs more banging themes.
Japanese voice acting 3/10 - put money in this already, not in creating english DUB...
Minigames 1/10 - actually I don't want to remember anything other than Karaoke in this one.
Side stories 7/10 - good, but not too many+need to include Ichiban's companions in them.
Overall, it would not be much, 3/10 or something.
The thing is, beat 'em up combat can evolve, it can be as difficult as turn-based - Lost judgement game has shown it. If Ryu ga gotoku really wanted to make their games difficult, they should have restricted the amount of healing items much more, not change the whole gameplay which many people have loved. The secret of success was its' epicness, QTEs, dynamic intros (how many people have started to love the series when Kiryu started beating the crap out of Kuze family in chapter 1 in Y0?) - things which are not really presented in this game.
And that's too bad, because Judgement series will have less budget than the Ichibans' series.
