Early Access Review
>An eroge RPG, featuring an extensive harem, made on RPGmaker.

>In a very early and bizarre plot twist, the protagonist actually isn't a sex crazed blockhead like they usually are in similar eroge RPG's featuring a harem.

>The world is divided among perverted dictators.

>There is also the church of anti-degeneracy and wholesomeness, but their idea of a solution against the world's problems is incredibly lackluster and inefficient. The agents they produce are sometimes as bad as the perverted dictators themselves (i.e. the classic eroge RPG protagonists)

>Be Simon, be fed up with church's ways, go independent and become a startup venture capitalist, that's the fastest way to change the world, because the world revolves around money.

>Chooses the optimal capital to invest in to start getting solid returns.

>Starts getting harussy rapidly. Sex is mutual.

>Only doing everything he can to make the world a better place according to his ideals. Doesn't even care about getting the harussy, harussies just end up throwing themselves on him because of his natural charisma and his wisdom. And it's not even in an inexplicable dumb way like all the other eroge harem RPGs.

>Continues getting harussy anyway. And it's not just the harussy, it's also their expertise and profession that genuinely comes in handy on his team. Doesn't complain about that.

>The members also have a healthy relationship with each other and not only with Simon. Simon always claims that he would still do the same things he does even if he didn't get a harem in the end.

>Starts forming a secret organization like Illuminati out of harussies, in order to overthrow the dictators in grand conspiracies and affect the world, and take part in fantasy world Geneva conventions and UN meetings, with aims to make the world a better place while being under the radar.

>Uses the money and the resources from his investments to hire mercenary bands, takes part in huge and geopolitics-shifting fantasy world wars.

>Ends up getting the harussies of the dictators.

>Ends up recruiting world leaders into his fold of harem-illuminati too.

>Be so selfless that in order to protect his underlings, turns himself in as a sex toy for the cruel indulgences of a dark goddess for months.

>Genetically engineers orcs to increase their IQ, because they deserve better than just being brainless cannon fodder of the evil dictators. And grants them their own independent nation.

>Creates a fantasy world NATO that could answer to any military crises around the world, with it's own secret headquarters too. And the genetically engineered orcs willingly help with their missions.

>NATO orcs and all the connections he makes with his allies and the world leader-harem members also help with the new conflicts.

>Starts getting goddesses into his harem. He still cares deeply about his past wife, whom he reanimates, and she is just a shambling skeleton.

>All by the choices the player can make btw.

One of the best adult RPGs out there, on par with Evenicle, and in most aspects even better.

I've reached the endpoint of the most current update at the time of writing this review, which is the end of the second gathering, and it had been an extremely long and wild ride until now, despite that it still feels like the game has even many, many more hours of story content to deliver yet. The plot isn't built on tropes, and it doesn't repeat itself often. And it's free too. It's made in RPGmaker and it has a simple gameplay which is not it's strongest suit, but that's fine;

Because this is the kind of game you play for - in the order of importance: 1) story, 2) sex, 3) gameplay.

Since there is a strict letter limit, I'll continue the review on the comments under this.

Edit: Updating for the awards.

Edit 2: Updating once again for the next year's awards.

Edit 3: Updating three years in a row for the labor of love award.

Another criticism I could make is, a lot of stuff about magic in this game seems to be explained in the way of "it happens, just because it is" instead of establishing a more understood foundation and operating in the defined rulesets. For others it might seem like no issue, but for me, it feels like it gives way to convenient Deus Ex Machina at times.

Overall, the story is good and long, it's high quality. And it would have been even better if the future chapters didn't involve much of the abovementioned criticisms. Otherwise, it's absolutely delightful.

Another thing is his complete lack of intellectual self-defense at the rare times. Now, a man who doesn't phase by rude words or accusations thrown around is a cool and wise man, but it doesn't mean he should completely show himself bare-naked with a target on his back. You gotta have your limits somewhere, some disrespect should be allowed, some not. But this one is also loosely connected by his lack of criticism against women at times anyway. The example of this would be that commander guy at the twin towers in Feroholm region, I forgot his name. But maybe the cause of Simon's inaction stems from his depression and self-doubt originating from the past events he had lived through. But it's still not much of an excuse, those times were long past, and he has a whole big harem to support him now.

He spares them criticism where criticism is due and much needed, objectively for personal growth, and just tells them what they would like to hear instead. That is definitely not a strong man trait - and Simon IS portrayed as a strong man. But is it a trait of a man who keeps the most number of women happy? Maybe, who knows. The first example that comes to my mind is the aforementioned New Unionist Party lady. I might write more as I remember. The only one instance where he subverts this is when he executes a lady who led an uprising against the Queen of Yhilin. But that's the only one, and it was way too obvious of a choice anyway.

There are definitely other ones, I just forgot them on the way as the story is way too long. But my advice would be for Sierra Lee to try to make some of those future story points politically neutral when it comes to events that could resonate with real life.

Another criticism would be, Simon is a good protagonist, compared to other adult RPG's, definitely a good one, no doubt. But perhaps not good enough, in my opinion. Simon is the kind of man who would make the rational decisions first and foremost, and doesn't take anyone for granted, and those are the best things about him. But on the other hand, at times I feel like he treats people of opposite gender with kid gloves.

One of those parties is all about stuff like "women should be allowed in the military" even though their political views have nothing to do with remedying the apparent economical weaknesses of the country, and the fact there are already some women in the military. What's worst, the leader of that organization pulls a fast one on Simon, our protagonist, and throws him under the bus incase if things went sour. Despite all of this, Simon acts as if it's all water under bridge, we still don't have a choice to deny them and refusing to work with them, despite there being other political options for that country.

Another one is Yarra pushing nothing but succubus rights throughout the world, and Simon generally enabling her, instead of reining her in to take care of the general well being of all populations instead of focusing too much on succubus well-being only.

There are a few examples few and far inbetween, but it would have been better if they didn't exist at all, or better yet, if the player was given a real choice, like the ability to make decisions in the opposite direction for example. But I'll give that to the developer since the story is atleast in a fantasy setting that is much different than the real world. And if the things work that way over there, then fine so be it.

For example, after the first arc of the game, you enter a period of diplomacy where you visit and do business in various countries. One of them is Ziranthia, a furry nation, riddled by poverty. There are a few different political factions and your agenda is to support the one that benefits you and your goals the best.

I'd hate to acknowledge this, and it's a little confusing to talk about, as videogames are a way to escape the matters of real life for me and for many others, but story is the strong point of this game so it's worth mentioning. So at times, there seems to be stuff that I could only describe as unnecessary distasteful leftwing political storytelling which is something that you are railroaded into and don't have much choice in. This is supposed to be about a story in a fantasy setting, but sometimes the stuff resonates so much with some of the real life politics, that it's hard to ignore. So far it hasn't been too overpowering, but it definitely spoils the taste whenever that kind of narrative resurfaces in the plot.

continuation:

With that being said the game isn't completely free of criticism however, and infact even more deserving of it because it's striving to be such a good game. Wheras I wouldn't care to criticize a simple enough game with simple enough goals or story as much.

At the first one or two arcs of the game, it feels incredibly fresh and revolutionary compared to your usual adult RPG, so much so that you can't get enough of it. Which is delightful. But after you achieve the majority of your goals, the story feels as if it starts losing some of it's focus, maybe slightly suffers from some kind of abstraction of goals, or as if some of the hype dies down a bit as you familiarize with the pace of things.
