First you will be confused, but then it will intrigue you... This is something similar to Age of Wonders: Planetfall but of course with outdated graphics, yet there is more powerful wargame engine under it... If only graphics would be like in AoW: Planetfall this would be AN ULTIMATE 4X... If only devs would have money / dare to do it as algorithm under it is very very powerful...

It will take time to get used to but in the end its worth it... Just remember this is from times before gaming became what it is now... This will be an experience for you - I would compare it to what is Dwarf Fortress to some modern games... It will take time... Not a lot of time but still.... Watch some youtube videos and then enjoy it even more...


Use some graphic terrain mods to make it look more nice, on their site there is actually quite a lot of mods (its easy to install), also watch some YouTube videos - and It will be better experience... Believe me - I also was suspicious but this game is actually pretty damn good!!!


Update: After almost 40hrs this game is better and better, procedurally generated content never ends, there is POWERFUL (I MEAN IT - whole economical simulation, something similar to X4) engine behind it all, the one that will make you laugh at new 4X games... Seriously I cant play civilization or any other now because this game ruined it for me... The number of mechanisms and processes under the hood is insane... Everything so logical... Unit needs supplies of few types and its not overcomplicated - logistics system is actually pretty LOGICAL.... Seriously other 4X games are PRIMITIVE AND PATHETIC comparing to this one, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LOOK AT THEM (they are so primitive in comparison its not even funny)... Its like playing reality...
