Kalo di warkop, mienya direbus ga sampe lembek. Melainkan sampe cukup kenyal aja, kira-kira 3 menit ngerebusnya. Kalau mienya lembek, air di dalem serat mienya jadi banyak. Kalau air di dalem serat mienya banyak, maka volume mie jadi bertambah. Kalau volume mie bertambah, maka luas penampang mie jadi bertambah juga. Kalau luas penampang mie yang harus terpapar bumbu bertambah, maka perbandingan takaran bumbu per luas penampang mie jadi berkurang. Dengan demikian, tingkat konsentrasi bumbu yang nempel di mie jadi tersebar. Otomatis rasa mie jadi kurang kuat ketika nempel di lidah. Sedangkan kalau mienya dimasak cuma sampe cukup kenyal, maka perbandingan takaran bumbu/luas penampang mie jadi pas atau bertambah. Dengan demikian, tingkat konsentrasi bumbu yang nempel di mie jadi padat. Hasilnya, mie terasa lebih enak di lidah. Itulah kenapa mie di warkop selalu keliatan lebih sedikit dibanding mie hasil masak sendiri.
