CS:GO Review
After 2018 hours, time is quickly approaching to say goodbye to CS:GO. The simple reason: Valve.
Even after all the years, CS is an excellent game and the gold standard of multiplayer FPS games. Yes, CoD has great campaigns and Rainbow 6 Siege is arguably modern brilliance against the ageing CS; but CS:GO remains simple to learn and hard to master with crisp, responsive controls.
The sad reality is that the lacking anti-cheat system and a now free-to-play game has changed an already challenged game landscape. Hackers, smurfs and just plain trolls are a dozen a dime in nearly every match and game. Even in the unlikely event of a deserved ban, a banned account is quickly replaced with a new (free) account. What was the plan, Valve?
Good game, let down by apathy to bring cheaters under control. Time to move on?
