Easily the best expansion for the game so far. Hopefully in the future they continue to do the same. There have been some really good expansions, and some very questionable ones.

Way too much content, between this and the free patch there are some substantial changes to the base game. 4 new tomes, all Materium+ (Materium & Nature, Order, Chaos, Shadow), along with a new Culture that is Materium & Chaos. Item forge released in free patch alongside water update, bunch of balance changes and whatnot.

I honestly don't understand why anyone would downvote this at all.

Decent game, not perfect, pretty much no choice (nor illusion of choice), but delivers on the D&D elements very well.

For when you've had a rough day at work.

Within half an hour can already tell it'll be a favorite of mine. Simple enough and straight forwards. Might sound odd but it kinda reminds me of the old Spyro PS1 games in that regard. They were great for their time, didn't really do anything too crazy or outlandish, and just delivered a solid, immersive experience.

Long term I'm pretty confident VR Games like this will be the mainstay. VR will never replace standard consoles or PCs by any means, but there are unique experiences like this one that you won't see on them.

Worth the buy when you can get it on discount.

There's a lot of content, not sure how active the online is anymore and some monsters are not really solo-able, such as Kulve Taroth, Ancient Leshen, Extreme Behemoth / Behemoth, and Fatalis.

Still, there's a TON of content. The end-game kinda sucks though in all honesty, compared to what World had.

There's not an option to provide a mixed review, so I guess it'll be Not Recommended.

This is due to a number of causes. The DLC policy they adopted in this game is horrible, and if they continue this in the next game I will also downvote it too, assuming I even buy it. I've been playing MH for many years at this point, the game does some stuff very well, but also many things poorly. Monster tracking and hitboxes are horrible, incredibly unreliable, the monsters will go from basically using hacks to never miss, to having completely closed their eyes while you are in front of them not moving. This is a bit of a problem as a lot of weapons now have counters that they HAVE to use to be effective, i.e. LS; monsters will randomly whiff attacks which then leads to you taking a bunch of damage if you were countering the initial attack and get hit with an insanely fast follow up (as the counter failed due to the monster missing, which is unpredictable).

Monsters will also randomly collide and shift with terrain, which will often provide a negative experience (i.e. attacks you countered that entirely miss, or YOUR attacks missing, or the monster's attack shifting into a completely new vector as it collides with the terrain).

There is a TON of content, so you will still get your money's worth, and that is why it is mixed and not a negative 'do not buy' in my opinion. It is worth a pickup assuming you can get both Rise & Sunbreak for about $20 or so.

End Game is extremely heavy on the RNG, like more than any other title in the past. Talismans are a huge source of important skills, they are entirely RNG based, horrifically so. The new Augmentation System for Armors is a nightmare, you could reroll your armor the first time and get exactly what you are looking for, or spend 20 hours grinding to upgrade a single piece of armor.

I agree with the many other comments on how to appropriately use your 'one' time use voucher.

I returned Cyberpunk 2077 a few years ago when it had originally released, as on my PS5 (which was the PS4 version only at the time), the game barely ran, looked horrible, didn't feel that good.

Playing it now after these years of improvements, and with the 2.0 Update in particular, it is spectacular. The game looks very good on a 4090. Coming off of Starfield's extremely lackluster combat and writing, this game feels like a breath of fresh air.

TL;DR Updating my review based on the 'Creation Club' being added

Game still feels lifeless and dull, but now with armor for sale!
