To preface this, I platinumed Elden Ring, on launch, without using cheap strategies.

This game is not particularly fun to play. A lot of the bosses feel like crap, they're aren't enjoyable to fight, and a lot of their mechanics are just punishing for the sake of punishing, without really adding to the experience.

Specific examples:
Suit with Rockets seen in trailers, it has a shield that absorbs a ton of damage, it will constantly dart around the arena, making it very VERY difficult to keep up with. Most of your weapons have a very limited range, ones that don't are typically slow or have poor tracking. The problem is that unless you are basically point blank with the boss, your weapons will be ineffective, he has a massive shield that will recharge many times throughout the fight, and he has a LOT of punishing combos and other attacks. The shield even when broken can randomly pop back up while the boss is in a stunned state, repelling you if you are close, which it will immediately then follow up with a very hard hitting stun shot.

C-Spider
For some reason this things legs have collision, it will rear up to do attacks, which can almost oneshot your AC if they hit, and yet all of its other legs then become hitboxes, so diving under it can randomly result in damage, when there's not necessarily another option to avoid it. It also constantly spams miniguns, all over the place, 360. These will break your guard, stun you, and let you get oneshot by one of his other attacks. He fires plasma missiles into the air, while constantly firing the gatlings, leaping around the arena (with legs randomly causing hitboxes during this time too, very inconsistently), and then charges up for some massive plasma shots with very high tracking (unless you dodge at the last second or fly directly above it you won't avoid it); you will frequently find the gatlings will stun you just before it unleashes those attacks, which will result in a 1HKO.

This doesn't make it fun. I beat all of the AT Elder Dragons in MHW, I killed un-nerfed Radahn and Malenia. I can deal with some really sadistic game design, but it at least needs to be fun. And I genuinely can't say this is. You will get punished for no reason, take a LOT of unavoidable damage (unavoidable damage is actually something that most game devs STRONGLY recommend against)...you could tell me that everything is avoidable, but at the rate of fire, that'd be a complete lie. If you aren't constantly pushing on the enemies, they will rip you apart while you are far away, and you won't be able to do any damage b/c of the deflection mechanic when you aren't shooting them when you can see the whites of their eyes.

I can handle difficulty, but the boss fights genuinely feel anti-fun. Like Radahn was a sadistic fight on launch, but it felt awesome, epic, and was a spectacle. Random enemies that get dropped in with no build up, and having just obnoxious mechanics, not quite where it's at. Malenia was difficult, but fun. This just isn't fun.
