First off, I am a big fan of the Dragon Age universe. I fell in love with Dragon Age Origins, played Dragon Age 2, enjoyed the open-world of Dragon Age Inquisition and was looking forward to this installment in the series. Unfortunately it falls short of any expectations you may have had. While the graphics are amazing any other aspect of the game is poorly implemented.

Combat can feel incredibly floaty at times with seemingly little weight behind your attacks. Enemies are just an amalgamation of colours rather than distinct opponents. The darkspawn, a major theme in the Dragon Age world, have become a side note. The world itself is no longer open-world but linear in its design, this does not have to be a major drawback but the depth of the gameplay has suffered with it. Whereas in Dragon Age Inquisition you had mounts, different potions and a real tangible inventory you now have.. nothing. There exists mere corridors to fight in and to perform the odd simple puzzle, none too riviting. Moreover the writing is not particularly strong in this game.

Overall the game is a step backwards from Dragon Age Inquisition and you get less bang for your buck as it is much shorter. If you are a fan of the Dragon Age world you will still get some enjoyment out of it, no doubt, but not because of the greatness of its design. Any fun is fueled by the already established lore and the strength of the brand created by old Bioware. I would not recommend this game to anyone who hasn't already been craving a new Dragon Age game for ages, therefore a thumbs down from me.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide feels like Vermintide 2 light while in early access.
It has less content, it lacks quality of life and many existing features were made worse.

The question you, a potential buyer, will have to ask yourself is whether you like the 40k universe to such an extend that you are willing to play a worse beta version of Vermintide. If the answer is yes then go for it.

It is still a blast with a dedicated group of friends however, but then again any game is a blast with friends.

Edit to the review: The developers doubled down on the worst aspects of the game. It is now just a shallow mediocre brawl game. There is no point in attempting stealth anymore. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. It used to be fun, now its awful.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a great game, provided you have 3 friends to play it with. As a co-op/PvP teambased game it is excellent if you have a solid team to work with. Through coordination and perfect play you can steal the key, get the vault and winch without the enemy even noticing. That is when the game shines and you feel like you are performing a heist. However if you play this game singleplayer your milage will vary depending on which character you play and on the strength of your team. Often you will find yourself in stalemate situations where its more a deathmatch than a heist.

This game is only a stealth game in the early/mid game. Do not expect to be stealthy later on unless you play a Marianne/Robin and you fight over the winching. Once the NPCs are slain you will be sprining more than crouching in team fights to vie for the final notch of the winching phase. Do keep this in mind when you buy the game.

At the early stages of the games development the developer claimed it would not become Pay to Win. There would not be microtransactions as the game was Pay to Play. However greed has overtaken the developer, as usual. Those of us who payed for the game are left with nothing. The game was changed to Free to Play and riddled with microtransactions. Dont play this, there is much better Free to Play Microtransaction games out there.

Early Access Review
Ill start with saying something few people have dared to say: This is a good game. Does it have bugs, glitches and overall annoyances? Yes, absolutely but the core is an amazing game with great potential.

You start out as a nobody, with a rank one class either beggar, merchant, militia or peasant. The beginning fase is rough, a mandatory crafting grind is necessary to reach better classes such as blacksmith or huntsman... but the pay off is huge. Once you reach these 2nd rank proffessions you will feel emersed in your role. As a blacksmith you promote your services on the server or you try to recruit newer players to work for you.

The dynamics of this game highly depend on the server population. Go in an empty server and you will miss out on 75% the black death has to offer. I encourage people to put themselves at risk and embrace your semi-perma death. I died several times but due to the fact that perks and houses are preserved it never felt brutal to the point i wanted to quit.

Certain things however need to be pointed out for this to be a fair review. The AI in this game is bad.. horrible really. Animals blink in and out of existance at random making hunting a nightmare. Guards sometimes randomly attack you. Bandits can suddenly pop in and start to attack you out of nowhere. Furthermore the bounty system is broken to the point that you can randomly aquire a massive bounty eventhough you are a saint in the game.

However once you see past all of this and immerse yourself in the world this game has to offer you can get an easy 20 - 30 hours out of it. Well worth the price i'd say.

So to conclude, are you a fast paced action FPS shooting kind of gamer with a craving of a large amount of content then dont get this game. Are you however someone that loves to Roleplay, immerse yourself in a character and live life like a medieval citizen then yes pick up this gem!
