There is a Unmached Experience in world of video games that is to play Baldur's Gate and export your character to continue playing in Baldur's Gate II and Throne of Bhaal. That got somewhat better in BG:EE, BG:SoDS and BGII:EE.

Both are in many lists of top 10 RPGs of all time and that says a lot, but not enough.
