More frustrating than fun, and I say that as someone who loves rogue -likes and -lites.

Plenty of great roguelikes will screw you over with RNG, but that's part of the expectation. It's on you to be resourceful so you can handle crisis as they emerge. You have to be calculated in your risks and give yourself the best odds of survival. It's all part of the fun and the challenge.

This game, however, saps the fun away and turns it into pure frustration. Technically this game has far less RNG than a traditional roguelike, but in effect it has way more. Treasure chests placed on spike, leaps of faith where you can fall into enemies and take damage, enemies hitting you and bumping you into more enemies making one attack take the majority of you hit points, and all manner of fake difficulty plague this game. At least in a typical roguelike you know it's at the mercy of the computer whether you crit or not for instance. Here it feels like the game is blaming you for not magically predicting the Cat Mario-like nigh unavoidable death traps it throws at you. Screw this.
